Amazing service and great cream teas! Dogs welcome and ours was given a little treat too! Hygiene was top notch as I saw the staff washing hands after petting our dog. Friendly service and great atmosphere and the food and drinks were “Really rather good”!
Lovely fresh pot of tea, with tea leaves!. Dogs welcome, which was lovely for us. Had a cream tea. Proper clotted cream. Highly recommend
Lovely little place, lots of teas and coffees to choose from and the eggs Benedict was amazing. Very friendly staff and they had towels at the door to dry off wet dogs! Thumbs up from us
First visit yesterday, and we'll definitely be back! Lots of teas and coffees to choose from, and yummy cakes! Good gluten free selection too, thanks! Just one quick question - any plans for doing gluten free scones at all? I really miss a good cream tea!!
Two breakfasts and an afternoon tea, it certainly was a great way to start the day with poached eggs, cooked just how I like them, oozing yoke. Freshly brewed tea using leaves and served with teacups, so much better than a mug, and to top it all the staff were all friendly, so our thanks for helping to make our stay in Bury St. Edmunds more enjoyable
The best breakfast ever ,excellent value and a super pot of tea
Thank you for excellent service
I love this coffee shop! The owners and waiters are friendly and accommodating, the food is fresh, the cakes win awards (and rightly so, if the Guinness cake is there, or the coffee and walnut grab one!), the coffee is fab and the milk is always perfect.
The atmosphere is friendly and you are never hurried. Husband and I can go there with the hound and have a coffee and completely forget to go shopping.
The dog loves the fuss and complementary doggie treats. Best friend (who is VERY exacting) could not find fault with anything- no smears on the glasses, cutlery was polished, everything was clean and the wine was good!
Do pop in! This place is marvellous- especially at Christmas when they do mulled wine. Writing about it now I want to go back! We have moved a lot in the last few years and even made the trip when we lived in Colchester because it's so charming (and I love the coffee).
We called in for lunch after seeing a sign that they accepted dogs. We had a light lunch with coffee. The coffee was lovely and the food was delicious. The service was excellent too. Highly recommend it.
We only had a coffee but it was very good! There is outside seating with a view onto the Abbey walls and was stunning in the sun.
Really tasty food and coffee was amazing!! Staff really friendly and helpful! Able to fulfil any request with no trouble!!

Lovely little cafe. It's so nice to have somewhere in town to go to when we have our furry friend with us! Very friendly and welcoming, always a treat on hand for the dogs too. Love going there x
Very friendly staff in a cosy and homely atmosphere. Fantastic range on the menu. Drinks were served swiftly and the food came shortly after. The chicken and bacon toastie was perfect alongside the lovely view out the front of the cafe. Plenty of seating inside and out. Would recommend for a quick lunchtime bite!
Nice wee privately owned cafe in the center of town, with good tea, coffee and cakes, staff were really nice and friendly.
The seating area is comfortable with a good relaxed atmosphere
Toilets were fresh and clean with a good supply of soap and hot water.
We really enjoyed our visit to this traditional cafe that served good coffee with a smile.
Overall good experience. I went here for a couple of hot chocolates and was pleased with the flavour, speed, and service. Since it was raining outside, we sat inside by the counter. But it was quite sticky and dirty so, on second thoughts, it would have been better to take it to go.
Stopped here on a cycle trip. Excellent sandwich, and drinks are a good choice. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more helpful. My water bottles were refilled and they even watched my bike while I went to the toilet. Thank you all so much. It was such a tonic to be so well welcomed and taken care of.
Lovely little cafe, welcoming staff, warm and cosy on a wet day. Only had a coffee so can't comment on the food. Dog friendly and she even got a treat.
Lovely coffee shop, with a hearty menu of classics. Staff were warm, the portions of cake were generous, and it made an excellent place to work while watching the world go by. It certainly has more character than the chain coffee shops, and I'll continue to return whenever I get the chance.
Best vegan hot chocolate with coconut milk.
Beautiful views of the Abbey, bright interior, plenty of seating and plugs for laptops, and friendly staff.
Very friendly place with helpful staff. A decent sized pot of good Earl Grey, a very tasty piece of fruit cake and a good view across to the Abbeygate. Not a bad place to stop.
A cozy place to have breakfast in this small little town. Very helpful and friendly staff. Scones are delicious too. What a lovely day.
Lovely service, lovely toasties, great price and really enjoyed our chocolate cake. Will return!
Nice spot to sit outdoors.
Good selection of sandwiches and good hot drinks. Good range of tasty cake.
It's a bit on the small side inside, but still a great little lunch spot.
As its a small cafe, indoors seating area would not be applicable for pushchair/ buggies/wheelchair so if the weather is good then there's option to sit outside. It does however holds a friendly yet chic vibe. Price is reasonable to a point, & the food was lovely with there's plenty to choose from
Only let down I can comment on is the loud clashing of pottery & plates to be cleaned which made chit chats a little difficult
There really are a Lot of coffee shops in Bury St Edmund's, people must be addicted to the stuff to keep them all in business and I confess than when visiting my family there I have tried a few. This one tops my list. The position is excellent over looking the Angel Hill and they have an excellent range of coffee's, tea's and chocolates. An impressive range of sandwiches and cakes plus soft and alcoholic beverages, nice word that. My wife was very impressed with a shot of bailey's in her hot chocolate. I'd recommend the spicy capachino, it has a posh name but as they couldn't pronounce it why should we! 😊
Stopped for tea and a scone. The cheese scones are delicious! Lovely seating area outside with views across to the cathedral and gardens, and to watch the world go by. Order inside, and it will be brought to your table.
Really lovely atmosphere to the place. Overlooks the Abbey Gate way. I noticed a sign that said gluten free. Was pleased to see I had a few options for food. Had gf toasties and it was delicious. Very helpful staff.
