I have been hearing amazing things about this restaurant and finally decided to try it out. Man am I upset I didn't go earlier. We got the gastrono-me hash and the salmon scramble. Both were delicious with massive portions, but the hash was mind blowing with how much rich flavor was packed into that
Simply amazing, staff were very helpful and very polite. Manager/supervisor was polite and provided dog bowls for food and water.
But the food, just incredibly tasty. If it was on my doorstep I would visit frequently. #gastronome hash.
Delicious food and very fast service! The portions were slightly smaller than expected for their price (hence the 4 stars), but we definitely couldn't have eaten any more as they were very filling! So actually decided they were the perfect sized portions after all! Lovely smiley staff and great musi
Very nice setting and extremely busy. We had the potato and chorizo hash which was a huge size and very tasty. If you are ever passing Bury St Edmunds then it is well worth stopping here.
Whew! Such good food. The staff were all super friendly and polite. The food came out quick, looking amazing, and tasted great. Portion sizes are rather hefty as well. This is a great little spot to stop for some food!

We enjoyed our vegan meal here. Particularly the lemon trifle! Would like to see more specifically vegan options in the starters and mains. Removing an egg to make it vegan isn’t really up to it these days! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff were all lovely.
Lovely experience here (we just moved here from the USA) and wanted a delicious restaurant providing breakfast options. Great selection, friendly and fun atmosphere, and gluten free options.
Really good atmosphere. A slow start on service as it took a little while to get their attention but they 100% made up for it when they took our order and it was spot on after that. Really lovely & friendly team and even our dog was welcome.

Fantastic experience at Gastronome. I have been coming here for many years whenever I visit Bury St Edmunds. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The food doesn't take long to arrive once ordered and the selection of drinks is amazing! Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Bury!
Had a fabulous early evening meal here with my wife while staying in the area last week. The food looked great and was really tasty. The staff were very attentive and service was efficient. If we lived locally we would definitely visit again. Recommended.
Went for a baby shower brunch and the food was incredible. I had the sweet pain perdu which was divine - three slices of fried walnut/fruit bread(?), with three rashes of crispy bacon, a few fresh berries (more needed) and clotted cream. Really friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would go again.
