This is a little gem of a place tucked away down a side street in Bury. It has a quirky interior and a very impressive selection of gins in the gin bar!
Having said this, I started with a Rathbone's, deliciously refreshing! Then I opted for a Smash the Basil - my new favourite drink! It was seriously good.
If you want to go somewhere a bit different that makes proper cocktails, it's definitely worth a visit...
I was just about to opt for a Starbucks lunch when I found this place …and I’m so glad I did. The nourish bowl was superb; quality fresh food in a rainbow of flavours and colours. This is balanced, healthy food done well. The coffee was also top notch. The staff were nice and the venue has a cool vibe with chilled tunes and relaxed seating areas with sofas if you don’t want to sit at a table. I’ll be making a beeline back to Baskerville’s when I next come this way. Cards only as they don’t take cash.
Love this place! Feel like you are going into a speakeasy, as it feels all secret and members only (which it isnt...but as you have to buzz the buzzer...and someone has to let you in...it adds to the mystery!). Fabulous atmosphere, great service and good tunes. We were a group of four girls and had a combo of breakfast tea, mocktails and cocktails! All of which were served with a smile and a recommendation. Highly recommended...a definite stop off or destination if you are on a night out and wanting something a bit different in Bury St Edmunds.
WOW so pleased we have finally got such a wonderful cocktail bar, the cocktails are amazing as well as the decor and the staff are the most welcoming and also the owner too!
Will definitely be our favourite place to drink.

Went to a private function, but even so, what a great place and atmosphere was fab. Great service. Will definitely be back for cocktails. Didn't eat so can't comment on that
Great vegan place for lunch or just coffee with cake. The Mexican pastry was amazing and the coconut and chocolate sweet as well. I loved the place and the atmosphere. I highly recommend it!
Can only call it a real experience, rather than just an evening drinking with friends. The downstairs area has a great ambiance of it's own and the staff are attentive and friendly - if you order cocktails then they come with a surprise of their own. We were lucky to be there same evening as @dwmagician , who wanders amongst the tables with his hand magic and mind reading skills - overall a great evening
To the Crew! What an experience! If you ever come to Bury, this place is a MUST to visit. The cocktails were a dream and the staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating. Me and two of my friends did a Cocktail Masterclass today and my goodness what fun!! The drinks were amazing, Max is so laid back and very knowledgeable. We had plenty of giggles! The Lounge ( hidden downstairs) is amazing!! We will definately be back! Thank you so much again for a lovely experience x
Attended a paint and plonk event here and it was a great location. Many a gin and tonic was consumed, they have an incredible range of gins to choose from!

Visited the evening hidden bar for some Sherlock inspired cocktails. The theatre and presentation of the cocktails is excellent. Wonderful friendly table service too.
We visited here on a Friday (opened@18.00) - what a fantastic place to visit and have some cocktails! nice to go somewhere different with many unusual cocktails indeed :-) - great staff very friendly. Give it a whirl and have some fun.

Delightful coffee cafe upstairs and a luxurious cocktail speakeasy downstairs (Baskerville Bar) what’s not to love!? For those of you looking for a daytime respite, Moriarty’s is sure to have a coffee, sweet, light meal, or prohibition style cocktail to fit your fancy. Lucky for you cool cats and kittens, they’re dog friendly; that’s right, you can enjoy all these goodies with your BFF by your side (upstairs). We stopped in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for some day drinking and were greeted by the friendly staff who made a mean cocktail (thank you Jake & Laurie for the cocktails, and Daisy thanks you Catherine for the gravy biscuits) and a nice introduction to their cute digs. All of the cocktails were lovely but the Moriarty takes the cake; it legitimately has magic-umami sprinkled in there somewhere. I loved that they had recycled coffee grounds (from the local Crude roasters) for takeaway for your garden, used pasta for straws, and takeaway everything ordered from their menu online. Of course only the highest COVID precautions were taken and at no point did we feel in danger for our health. Be sure to stop by for some guilty pleasures and support your local BSE coffee/cocktail purveyors!
We hired the basement bar for an evening wedding reception. Max and the team went above and beyond to make it perfect before, during and after the evening!
Delicious, fun and sophisticated cocktails. Something for everyone and would highly recommend.
Food that was laid on was great and went down a storm.
We can't praise Max and the team enough for their efforts and Max especially went to every effort to ensure everything was a stress free as possible for us!

We had the pleasure of hosting a private party at the basement/cocktail bar at Baskervilles... and what a special night it was! We had requirements to accommodate a sound system with DJ's and these guys we're excellent at being able to accommodate all of our requests and being super flexible around setting up/down equipment. If you enjoy a good cocktail this is the place to go! Thank you so much to Maxima + rest of the staff for making a very memorable night for everyone. You we're all amazing. We had a girls night last night for cocktails and magic. It did not disappoint! The bar staff were very helpful in aiding us in making the right cocktail choice and he made sure we had the 'dramatic' effect we asked for when serving the cocktails. The hidden bar felt so welcoming and relaxed, we even said whilst there we wouldn't know we were still in Bury! The cocktails paired with magic was the great girls night! We will be back. Thank you.
