Held a small wedding reception here last month. Alfonso and the team were fantastic. The decoration of the room was perfect, the food was very high quality, the service was great, and everyone in our party had a wonderful time.
Can highly recommend St James’ for any type of event!

Five of us went for lunch.
Nice to find a proper vegan menu and the food was delicious - particularly the Pearl barley risotto and vegan chocolate cake.
Service is as very attentive and the wine list just long enough to find a nice drop at a reasonable price.
Overall the group was very pleased to visit St James and will return.

Good food with good wine list. Owner came over to introduce himself too, so nice touch. Setting was good and attentive service. Portions are appropriate size making an easy decision for three courses. House champagne was good and not too costly. It does get busy.

This is definitely the place for a celebration or a quiet dinner for 2. Lovely ambience, attentive wait staff and yummy food. Managed a pic of our 2 starters - salt beef and watercress soup. I recommend the haddock or fillet steak main and the Toblerone cheesecake was sublime.

We managed to get a table booked last week for our anniversary, rang up the day before and was lucky enough to get a table. The staff are very professional and friendly! The food and the red wine are exquisite (the lamb was delicious) Nothing to fault whatsoever. Very clean also.

Had dinner here sat night The menu was very creative and unusual. Food quality was high as was attentive service. For bushey the cost slightly less than stratospheric paying a bill abit less than I would have anticipated. Looking firward to next time. Airtime reservation.

Great food. Between us I think we had most options covered. I recommend the lamb. Desserts finished off the meal perfectly.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Even the owner mingling with the diners and stopped for a chat.

Fantastic place for dinner! Went for a private event and food and service was at top notch standards.
This local eatery managed to not only serve everyone's food promptly, but also wonderfully cooked and beautifully presented. Which is no mean feat when the entire restaurant is booked out and everyone is offering off the menu!
There were friendly staff constantly offering drinks, and checking if we needed anything. They did this in an unobtrusive way and always with a smile.
Toilets were clean and tidy.
Parking was fine and there is a local car park less then 5 mins walk away.

We went there for our wedding anniversary . We had been told that portions were very small but we found them generous. The crab and lobster risotto starter was great . It would have been enough for a main course and the taste and consistency were amazing. I had the pasta for a main course- I had to bring half home with me as such a big portion but unfortunately it wasn't as high quality as the risotto. The staff were very nice and made celebration of our anniversary.

I have dined at some of the top Michelin starred restaurants around the globe, and this place is up there in my top five favourites!
The host and waiters were so hospitable and made us feel welcome immediately. The wine list was extensive and had some real quality choices at very reasonable prices.
They managed to cater 5 star food for 23 people in just under two hours. I had the asparagus to start, medallions of beef for main and white chocolate mousse for dessert. All three courses were out of this world, but particularly the medallions of beef which were cooked to absolute perfection. The parsnip crumb and potato bon bons that accompanied the dish were quite possibly the favourite side I have ever had!
I am so impressed with this restaurant that I will be returning all the way from Kent to try the rest of the menu!

Wonderful food! Always top quality and so tasty! Great service, the staff have a smile on their faces and nothing is too much trouble. 16 years ago had my daughter's bat mitzvah lunch there in the back room when it was just a room with brick walls! I am so happy it has survived during the recession, may it long be a part of Bushey!

The service was good but the food was subpar. I expected a fine dining experience after hearing good things but the veal was very dry and the jus did not compliment the other components on the plate. Very disappointed.

Had a lovely business lunch here. Nice to have a bit of fine dining on our doorstep rather than having to go into central London. Very nice staff. Loved how the allergies/ingrediants was shown so I didn't need to ask.
