Food was great service was good. It was good value for money ..We tried all the Indian food places in Caenarfon and this one was by far the best.. all round 😉
Excellent Indian restaurant which serves delicious food. Our waiter was very engaging and we enjoyed his sense of humor.
Before you go, bear in mind that the restaurant serves no alcohol so you need to bring your own. Not a problem but good to know beforehand. However, there's a shop just down the road which serves alcohol.
Had a great meal here last night, they were able to accommodate us at last minute which was our gain.
The food was very good not a bad meal or complaint amongst any of us. The staff was excellent the young guy who waited on us was very funny and could have a laugh with.
This is a dry restaurant but allows you to take alcohol in if you wish.
One thing that I have not had before was the chilly pickle in the pickle tray array which was tasty
Very clean. Nice décor. Good menu . Service was perfect. I spoke in English to my shame. The staff spoke perfect local Welsh as I am first language Welsh myself. This was a real good touch . I was so surprised. The food was perfect. I will be going back often. Really liked that the staff spoke real Welsh. One love
A nice Indian restaurant with a wonderful staff.
The taste was good and well prepared.
We ordered a takeaway,
Great tasting food,
friendly staff,
the food was ready for time of pick up.
Happy customer 👍🏻
Unlicenced restaurant so only given 4 stars. Atmosphere only 3 as it was a very quiet mid-week out of season evening. Food delicious, lots of choice, both traditional menu items and specials. Great service, very friendly and welcoming. Chilli chutney was amazing!
One of the best Indian restaurant we ever visited. Great service, delicious fresh food, generous portions, fabulous atmosphere! Totally 5 stars! Highly recommended! Magda and Micheal
Lovely food and excellent service. We were a party of seven and all the food arrived together and was just cooked hot ready. Remember to take your own alcoholic drinks. Thank you for a great evening.
Staff were pleasant and tentative during my visit here.
So before I begin it is worth pointing out that this place does not serve alcohol and by the looks of previous reviews, not served them for some time but you can bring your own.
Served by a young lady and rather order my usual safe meal I asked her if she could recommend the mains for me but emphasised that I do like not overly hot spicy meal, like a vindaloo, I was duly corrected that spice and heat were two different things which is right....silly me.
She recommended Kalta Lamb but would ask the chef to make it slightly spicy...sorry hot for me, great. I also ordered King Prawn Butterfly and some poppadoms with pickle tray, Chilli Naan and egg fried rice.
The poppadoms were well poppadoms what can you say, the dips were a nice array of dips with different tastes but would loved it if it included spicy onions.
So after a light starter, my starter starter were the Butterfly King Prawns coated in breadcrumb with a sprinkle of Coriander leaves and garnished with lettuce tomato and cucumber (and a wedge of lemon). Come on what's with the garnish...sooo old fashioned. Ok I was hoping the KP coatings had some spice through it, but no. Thank goodness I still had the dips. On their own they taste like any ordinary fried KP. they were juicy and tasty enough but could had added spice to it or an India spice dip!!!
Main course the Kalta Lamb, a very tasty dish. So since I have never had this meal before I cannot really compare it to anything I have had before but it was very good. The lamb meat pulled apart so easily and tasted fantastic-melting in my mouth. The sauce, in my opinion, reminded me of rich gravy with onions through it. Personally I thought it lacked spice and heat (even though she later confirmed she had asked the chef to add heat into it). I used some of the chilli in the naan bread to add some heat. The naan bread was good, nice fluffy and gorgeous to chew.
I also ordered a portion of egg fried rice, possibly one of best egg fried rice I've had in an Indian.
So negative points....Men - don't go to the toilet before having your meal. The place looks like a pub conversion judging the looks of the urinal. It still has the appearance and odour and looking at the wall, as its what I'm staring at at the time (lol), I see traces of dried blood...remains of a bar fight?
The lower walls had chunks in it which could had been repainted during the restrictions. Anyway its all about the food and staff which is all good. I would come back but maybe avoid the toilets.
Amazing Indian restaurant. Food brilliant apart from 1 dish we had Chicken Tandoori Tikka Masala which was very sweet and had coconut in it which we have never had before. Every else perfect. Very clean. Staff went out of their way to be welcoming and gave advice without being pushy. Fahir was friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. We went back 3 nights later and Fahir remembered us and was exactly the same as before. Very steady flow for eating in and take away. Highly recommend
7 of us eat in this restaurant last night, great food, fabulous waiter who had a great laugh with us. We will definitely eat in here again next year when the OCRDA are next back in town
Very nice friendly restaurant with a great menu and pleasant attentive staff. The food i had was first class. Would definitely return.
Great place. Super nice food at a decent price. Not sure I found the music suitable, but I guess it’s good for lots of others
Probably the best Indian restaurant in the area! The staff are friendly, efficient, and the food is amazing! It's a bring your own booze venue-added bonus as some restaurants charge ridiculous amount for cheap alcohol. Highly recommend the Kalia if you like it very spicy! Looking forward to coming back

We ordered in the food. Delivery person was friendly and polite. The food was delicious and still very warm even though we were quite a ways of the restaurant.
My parents wanted a curry and they have lived in South east Asia for a life time. So they tasked me and I did a trusty Google maps search, this one came up with good reviews and there is a good reason, very good service, food portions good, the curry was very tasty the rice with lamb dish was big and filled with meat which impressed me.
The naan breads were fresh and delicious so much so we ordered another one. The daal was tasty, spinach vegetable curry was very nice. I ordered the tandoori mixed grill which was lovely the onions were delicious. At first we had a plain rice which they kept and we said take it back but we will still pay for it. In the end they took it off the bill. They did charge for tap water 2 quid... Meh still the food impressed us and we have been to India and many a curry house.
I highly recommend here.
