A really good hotel slap bang in the middle of Cambridge. Just a few steps from the station and all the attractions in the city. Excellent staff and service, couldn't do enough. Beds are very comfortable, a good size. Great bathrooms, attention to detail was great, such as a nightlight in the bathroom. The restaurant menu is brief, but all the food we ordered was really good quality, again staff were brilliant, attentive but unobtrusive, great humour too. Breakfast was decent, hot and tasty, plenty of choice with both full continental and cooked choices. Will definitely be back Only drawback is no parking at the hotel, but there is plenty around the vicinity.

Location is great if you are traveling by train. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options and the bedrooms are lovely and big. It was my first time visiting Cambridge and I want to thank Fernando for all his recommendations about the city and restaurants around. Thank you very much to Valeria also for her big huge smile and assistance during check-in. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived early in the morning but she let us kept our luggage with her while we wondered around.

I had the pleasure of staying at Clayton hotel, and I must say that Antra's service truly made the experience exceptional. The ambience was great, but her dedication and attentiveness took it to the next level. She went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Antra's friendly and professional approach is a testament to the high standard of service at this establishment. I highly recommend her and this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay.

Lovely hotel, we stayed in the executive room with a balcony, on arrival we were 'upgraded' to the VIP of the day where we were given two free cocktails, that was a pleasant surprise. Service was fab. We had dinner and breakfast included in the price, and the food was very good. My only concern was that the air conditioning did not work and because of that I had a hot night, informed reception and was told that it was resolved but unfortunately I hadn't. So that is the reason for the 4* Would recommend.

I booked a room for my mum and sister who stayed for a week at the hotel. The receptionist, a really nice and cheerful lady (Maria), gave them a super nice welcome and let my mum storing her luggage in the hotel for the whole day before the check-in. Additionally, she helped my family getting around Cambridge by calling taxis and directing them to the best restaurants and places to visit. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was really comfortable and big. I really recommend this hotel for whoever wants a perfect stay in Cambridge.

Lovely little boutique hotel with tons of character, right across from the train station, yet a quiet and calm atmosphere. I arrived here late morning after an overnight flight and a few hours of train travel, tired and hungry. Anticipating dropping my bags and having to walk around the city until 3pm, I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful front receptionist that my room was ready and I could have access. I was so happy to be able to nap and shower upon arrival, it made a huge difference to my jet lag. I truly wish I could’ve stayed longer than one night as it is an exceptional property with a lot of charm and a kind and helpful staff.

We hosted my best friends bridal afternoon tea gathering at Clayton hotel known as former Tamburlaine hotel. Located near the stunning botanic gardens in the heart of Cambridge. It was a beautiful day ‘ and no better way spending it at a 4 star hotel! Afternoon Tea is served daily between 2pm-5pm and currently costs £9.50 for a cream tea and from £29.50 per person for afternoon tea. The lovely-attentive waiter came with brass cake stands and placed them on the table and explained how many people can share one. We had beautiful pastries to tasteful sandwiches and of course a selection of teas; herbal and English to acquaint the delicious spread. My favourite were the freshly baked scones with jam and cream. The finger sandwiches were beautifully cut and parallel filled with salmon, egg, humous and salad. The top tier had the most gorgeous pastries - the only downside is there was no description on what they were. However, they tasted rich, smooth, sweet and light. Would certainly go again. Had a very expensive ambience , and calming touch to the hotel. We loved where we was seated , and overall was left with full satisfaction.

Great hotel, well decorated, staff were friendly and polite. Bed was phenomenal, comfortable mattress and topper. Only downside is the parking, had to park at the station car park near by which is a short walk away.

Beautiful decor and very big and comfy beds! You feel like sleeping on the clouds. Stayed for an event and all staff was so helpful, but I would like to thank Maria from events and Fernando from reservations for all of their help and patience organising it. Huge well done!

Spacious triple room with 1 single bed & 1 extra large double bed. Beds are very comfortable and bathroom is clean. Reception service is good too. Excellent location, just a minute away from the train station! Would stay again if I visit Cambridge.

Very pleasantly surprised by the Clayton in Cambridge. Booked for a weekend away for our anniversary, the hotel was well located and pleasantly appointed, so much so that we are looking at other locations to stay with them. Cambridge itself was lovely, with plenty to see and do.

My son and I had a very comfortable stay and were very pleased that we were able to check in early especially as the weather was so hot. As we required twin beds we were allocated an accessable room which was perfect as I do have some mobility issues. The only reccommendation I would advise is to have a seat or chair in the wet room as I do have balance issues and trying to dry legs and feet is is very difficult standing up.

I enjoyed a great two night stay at this hotel. Although it was slightly more expensive than other hotels in the area, it was worth it as the service was amazing. The only meal I had at the hotel during my stay was breakfast. This is a buffet service and was delicious.

I brought a class to Cambridge for a field trip and had a terrible experience at the youth hostel. At 1 AM we were without a place to stay. Chelsea, the night manager at Clayton, helped, supported my group, and made sure all the students got to bed as quickly as possible. The hotel itself was excellent, and Chelsea personally was fantastic. From making the process as quick and smooth as possible, to even memorizing which students were in which rooms by name to help with organization, she was absolutely outstanding, and helped make what could have been a catastrophic night turn into some of the best days of the trip. Excellent rooms, outstanding staff, and first class breakfast. Highly recommend.

Would stay again at this classy hotel even though some dining furnishing seats were beginning to peel. Just needs more staff and attention to detail. Restruant staff are great and food was perfectly cooked. 1st class chief

Overall, my family & I are satisfied with our stay at the Clayton Hotel Cambridge, afterall it's a relatively long stay for a total of 12 nights. Based on my previous experience for a long stay in other hotels, there will be better personal level of customer experience for long-stayed guests but in this case we don't feel it perhaps this is more like a biz hotel (since it's located next to many corporate offices). Besides that, I would have given higher rating if the housekeeping in the room is done better than my expectation (once again, being a long-stayed guest). They should know the frequency to replenish items for rooms with 3 adults for toilet papers & face tissue papers, instead of me calling the front desk requesting for it (in the total of 12 nights, I have made 3 calls requesting for the replenishment of those items). On top of that, we don't seriously think our cups are being thoroughly cleaned after use daily. There were days that we noticed the stain marks of tea in the cup and we have to wash it clean by ourselves before using it for tea again (by the way, the number of tea bags provided for 3 guests in the room for 12 nights stay were also insufficient and was somehow not replenished while the staff remembered to put 3 cookies on the cup everyday, which was surely a nice gesture). Thks
