Just returned from an appointment in the Endocrinology department, clinic 32. They were brilliant.
I’ve been to many appointments in several different hospitals over the years with my disabled daughter. This appointment and testing stands out as being one of the easiest appointments we’ve had. They were efficient, competent, accommodating, listened, nothing fazed them, totally disabled friendly.
I can highly recommend this hospital. It is very organised, the staff are both helpful and friendly and go out of their way to provide the best possible experience. The medical staff are highly professional and go the extra mile. The my Chart app allows patients to keep track of their entire history, prescriptions, blood tests, appointments, letters etc. This is the way a hospital should be run.
My experience with Addenbrooke's hospital was very mixed but this is the main hospital I go to with regards to my cochlear implant, the operation itself was fine but I had to fight with the nurse to not allow students to be present during my operation because my operation was very high risk due to my condition. I was then given medication that turned out I was alergic to and I was left to deal with it on my own. I do have to say though their audiology department is wonderful and are great with dealing with my enquiries and helping me on my cochlear implant journey.
My interactions with staff, doctors, and nurses have been nothing but positive. I am visiting someone in the neuroscience critical care unit. The Nurses are absolutely brilliant. In my opinion, they earn every penny they get and deserve at least twice what they get, if not more.
I had day surgery for my grommets insertion in both ears. Although a long wait I didn't mind because I desperately wanted to get it sorted. Everyone I met was welcoming kind and took great care of me. In particular, Anita who wheeled me to surgery, all the team in theatre who did the op, Claire who looked after me when I can round and Elizabeth on L2 who had a brilliant sense of humour. Please make sure you they see this. Thank you to all of you.
All The staff are amazing.
There’s plenty of parking. With several disabled parking spaces some right in front of the main entrance
My daughter was on ward D5 a couple of months ago recieving palative care and she was looked after so well by all the staff. They even allowed me to stay with her during her last couple of weeks. A big thank you to all the staff you do a fantastic job.
I had day surgery for an eye procedure March 2023. I thought the staff were lovely and very reassuring, right up to being esorted to theatre. When I came round, again, all staff very caring and helpful. The consultants were also very good and one of them came to see me afterwards to see how I was and an update.
Large NHS teaching hospital in Cambridge with a biomedical research and development centre being built nearby spread over a large site with many department's and clinics very easy to find yourself lost in the corridors within the main building but there are hospital guides to help you find the right place within the hospital most of the outside parking bays are for disabled ♿ parking with a multi storey carpark nearby with covered walkways wheelchairs are located throughout the site with a £1/€1 release and can be returned anywhere on site that deposit/return bays are located. carpark changes are expensive to reduce abuse of the facilities. and a code/dept stamp can be obtained from the relivent department to reduce the entry ticket changes to a flat rate for patients.
Now with the old pappworth Everard site moved to the new location on the addenbrookes hospital campus and official opening by the Queen the site is a major learning and teaching hospital. retail outlets in the main building cover most of the things you may need while at the site. Still working hard over the Christmas and new year breaks
I was treated so well, I was lost as it is a big hospital but staff was more then happy to help,I didn't wait to long and x-ray was very quick.
