I usually enjoy Au Bon Pain however this location has lackluster employees, a dimly lit kitchen area and a limited selection of pastries. The seating area could use some music to make it more enjoyable. The food was not great. Overall it has a creepy vibe compared to similar Cafe's like Pret and Cafe Nero. I come to Davis Square often but I won't be back to this eatery.

I think the employees are not well trained. I asked for the smallest latte available, and I have a large in my hand. I ordered a ham and 2 cheese sandwich and a butter pecan latte. Bad choice on the coffee. It's way too sweet and has given me a headache. The sandwich was okay. The only reason I'd choose this place over Starbucks is because I need a calmer place to study. Otherwise I'm not a fan.

Unfortunately, I've been to this location twice recently and received a Chicken Caesar Wrap that is built like a sandwich. Instead of tossing all ingredients together to mix the dressing, chicken, greens and cheese I bite into a big pile of cheese or chicken or lettuce completely DRY. I believe this must be a training issue because the manager has done it correctly for me before. Also, appreciate not serving me bad romaine but it would've been nice if they had reminded me they didn't have romaine - I would've ordered something else. Also did not ask what kind of wrap I wanted - just started using a white one. This is clearly training!

Today I experienced a delightful lunch at the Au Bon Pain in Davis Square Somerville. The food was fresh and tasty. The staff were very helpful and polite.
We intend to return there soon and we have a pleasant memory in the meantime. I give that place 5-STARS.

I only eat at Au Bon Pain on rare occasions because I work in the same building. To put it simply they are WAY overpriced, pastry and bread products are hard and seem like that sat out for 2 days, sandwiches can be made to order but the line is ridiculously during lunch with usually only 2 cooks and 1 cashier. If I do ever eat there it's because I happened to forget a lunch, and my only options will be to get the self-serve soup, pre-made salads or fruit and nuts that are available at the cashier to save myself 15 min.

Fast service will get you your sandwich on the go and a coffee. They have some nice cookies and the pastries are good. For seating it is a bit dirty, so it is better on the go

I rush in there before I get on the train around 7:30 AM, guys that prepare breakfast sandwiches are too slow. My sandwhich was messy not piled up correctly. They ran out of brown sugar for the oatmeal 3 weeks ago, never been replaced. Disappointed in service.

Very disappointed with my experience involving two ABP locations today. During my morning commute, I picked up a large, French Roast coffee at the Davis Sq - Somerville location and added light cream to it. When I got to my office, I took a sip of my beverage and realized that the taste was off, as if the cream that had been set out had actually been spoiled. I walked into the Central Sq - Cambridge location close to my office, explained the situation to one of its employees, and even showed her that the cup was full. She said it would be fine to make myself a new one.
After preparing the second cup, I thanked her while heading to the door. She angrily called out to me, saying that I needed to pay for it first, embarrassing me in front of the line of customers at her counter. I summarized our previous discussion, to which she replied that because it was a different location I still needed to pay for it, even though the original beverage had been undrinkable. I said that I wished she had told me this before I put in the time to prepare another cup for myself, and then told her I would leave the coffee instead as I had left my wallet at the office.
A man in line was kind enough to pay for the replacement beverage for me; however, it was to *him* that she apologized for the "policy." This was terrible food preparation and customer service - spoiled milk and I can't even replace it?! That's absurd! Additionally, at the second location the milk had contradicting labels - it had "Skim" on the canister's cover and "Whole Milk" on the canister's body. I couldn't even be sure what I was pouring into my cup! Ridiculous. I've had trouble before at the Central Sq - Cambridge location where I've had to search for an employee in the store's backroom just so I could be cashed out, but this? This topped it all and will make me think twice before entering another ABP again.
