Was here for a wedding event so I guess this review will be more about it being a function centre.
Found plenty of parking as we arrived. On this occasion it was quite a nice sunny day which helped a lot as it was an outdoor ceremony. When that was over we were directed to the function centre to have drinks and food before the main reception started.
I was actually very impressed with the amount of food and variety being brought out. Chicken skewers, garlic prawns, vegetarian snacks, oysters and the most delicious beef puff pastries with a yummy gravy to dip them in.
At the reception the food was equally delicious (was alternate drop) which was between a steak or salmon dinner. Inside the set up was well thought out.
The bar was in easy reach from most parts of the room, elevator access for those who need it and more than enough toilet amenities. The staff were very friendly, helpful and gave great service.
Overall a great choice to make if you're looking for a wedding reception.

The $69 oyster platter for 30pcs, with both fresh and cooked mixed was delicious and good value. My favourite was the cooked oysters with mustard. The raw oysters were a bit lukewarm and just so-so. The Kilpatrick was too heavy on the BBQ sauce and bacon, just so-so overall.

Other than the fresh oysters, the rest of the food has no other redeeming qualities. It was over cooked and under seasoned. I’ve never have a more tough octopus. It was completely butchered. Paired with sub par service I was sorely sorely disappointed.

Convenient location, close to the airport, that means our empty stomachs are taken care of right off the plane. Everything was fantastic. Can't wait to come back there again.

Oysters are fantastic! Other items on the menu were so-so. Good service and nice atmosphere. Convenient location 5 minutes from Hobart airport

Barilla was the most amazing venue for our wedding. So easy to communicate with and no request was too much for Kayla and Michaela during the whole planning process including postponements through the pandemic. Our guests have been raving about the food saying there was so much to offer and the drink selection was premium and they loved it! We could not fault Barilla especially when planning the whole wedding from Melbourne. Thank you! We don't have words for how grateful we are for making our day amazing!

Umnn...First we got here what impress by friendly staffs. But the waiting period close to 1.30 hrs. I don't think this is good for any customers. I hope they will improve this service. Thank you

Where do I even start with this review?
I had booked this tour for my family back in 2020 but unfortunately had to cancel (well ahead of time given) due to covid and the lockdowns. The company was happy to refund however what they don't tell you is that they take a 3% processing fee so I only received a partial refund.
Two years later (May 2022), we were finally able to visit Tassie as family and booked this tour. The tour guide (Grace) was lovely, very informative and engaging - I can't fault her. We did a tour of the on-land oyster farm, the ginger beer and the outdoor dried abalone feature. This took about 1-2 hours.
What left an absolute sour taste in my mouth was when we went to purchase some oysters to take home after the tour, I asked a lady at the counter (had glasses and dark coloured hair) if they had any big oysters as we wanted to cook some for the kids, we were replied with attitude that what they have in the fridge is all they have (even though they were still shucking in the back). After some deliberation and seeing as we were on holiday, we bought several dozen and had asked for ice with the oysters as we were going to be out and about for lunch before returning home. She brought out an ice pack that was about 5cmx5cm big and asked how many we wanted, otherwise suggested we could buy the poly boxes which were $7 each. We opted for the ice and asked for 6 so that it was enough to somewhat keep the oysters cool and prevent them going off before going home. She charged us for each ice pack and when I questioned why she didn't mention that cost upfront and had added it to the total (without telling us), she became defensive and rude. Said they charge for the ice so that it's fair for those who don't ask for it.
If you go to ANY seafood store, they will always provide ice for free to help keep the seafood fresh and stop it from going off before you get home.
I would reconsider coming here!
