Blackshop is an absolute GEM! Everytime we go we get the best service from our server and the food is always on point. We are now making this place a monthly occurrence due to the food, the servers and ambiance. I would highly recommend, classy but elegant. The dessert is also top notch, and the drink menu is on point.

THE best dining experience I have had in years. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner last night and we were totally blown away. Our server was a wonderful young lady who had a little bit of an accent (I want to say French but I could be wrong). She was charismatic and polite right off the hop, helping us with wine recommendations and featured items on the menu. We started with the Bacon Scallops and they were PERFECT. Moving onto the main course, my girlfriend had the lamb and I had the beef tenderloin. Both items came out in a timely manner and looked amazing. Now this is where my 5 star comes in; I cut into my steak and it was a little bit well done for my liking as I asked for it medium rare… I hate sending food back. It’s my least favourite thing to do as a server but our wonderful waitress would not let me take no for an answer. Within minutes I had a brand new plate of immaculately cooked steak and sides. I was blown away at the level of customer service. We were then treated to dessert by the restaurant for my partners birthday. 10/10 Food - 20/10 Customer service Come here if you need a refreshing dining experience. Beautiful decoration and atmosphere and a very curated service. Excellent wine and cocktail menus. My partner ordered the pork chops which came with broccoli, mashed potatoes and other delicious sides, and I ordered the salmon which was cooked to perfection, and came with warm olives garlic rapini, quinoa, and olives.. Everything was delicious!! The price point was at $35/entree. There was a bread basket for the table. For dessert, we shared the mini dessert medley, which included tiramisu, creme brulee, and carrot cake. Everything was of excellent quality.

We went out to for dinner on Saturday. I got there about 40 minutes before the rest of the party because they were stuck in traffic. The host was very nice, looked at my proof of vaccination and gave me some options on tables. I waited about 10 minutes then the first waiter came and took my order for an apple martini. It was really good although they ran out of the apple syrup so I couldn't order another one. My friends showed up and the first waiter came over and told us that he would need to have another waiter take over from him. The new waiter seemed so have a huge chip on his shoulder. We ordered some calamari for an appetizer, he got snappy when my friend asked for some bread. When he came over with our main course we mentioned it was our friends birthday. He didn’t even say happy birthday to her, although I know he's not obliged to wish her a happy birthday it's just a kind thing to do. My friend asked if they did something for birthdays, he said sarcastically “well I wouldn’t be a good waiter if I didn’t do anything!” It was quite uncomfortable. We finished our meal and we each ordered desert. He brought out her desert and said “compliments of the chef”. I thought that was very nice it had Happy birthday written on the plate in chocolate. When our bills came, there was a charge for the complimentary desert, so she asked him about the charge and he said “the chef wrote a complementary Happy birthday on the plate!”. It was really such a disappointment after driving 1 hour and 20 minutes from London and spending over $100 per person to be treated so badly. The food was good which is why I gave the review a star, I got the calamari for an appetizer, steak for dinner and a mini crème brûlée for desert.
