The Old Buttermarket - Canterbury - Photo album

Wonderful location, staff carefully asked about allergies, only when we were leaving nobody bothered to say good bye. Food was good, my ribeye steak was a bit chewy but it had been nicely marinated so the flavour was good. Ham and eggs was nicely juicy and aromatic. We liked our beers. Nice interior
Good restaurant with a decent menu. The place can get pretty packed, especially bank holidays. They have outdoor seats and tables, and it's located right next to the Canterbury Cathedral. The only downside was that they didn't have roast anymore, nor steak. It's worth trying it.
Very nice service, lovely place, absolutely delicious food. Dog friendly. I hope to get back to this place :)
Nice place, small but confortable. Food is good. The menu in generL is ok. You order at the bar and they will serve you at the table. Good place.
Very popular place - book in advance! Best pie I ever had (Christmas) and drinks were good. Others had Christmas dinner and said it was superb. Took 45 min but it was worth it and staff so warm and welcoming.
Superb stop off for a meal and some excellent beverages. Love this place, sat outside watching the world go by. Bang next to the cathedral, well worth a visit. Amazing friendly atmosphere and service 10/10
Such an amazing pub! The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly
This was out first time here. The place was full when we entered for a drink or two. This place is popular among local so I would advise you to book in advance which we should have done it. But me made an impromptu plan to go here. Server were friendly and cooperative since we were walk in and showe
Good, depending on the time you visit. Ocean Fish and Chips nice, crisp and tasty. Improved from my last visit of months ago. Clean tables, seats and toilets.
Amazing pie and juicy chicken schnitzel!! Enjoyed lunch very much, thanks.
We went to Old Buttermarket on a whim as we needed lunch. It was a fantastic idea. We ordered the duck leg and ale pie (Right pie) and wild boar and chorizo pie (left pie) as well as a pint of Pepsi max and pineapple juice. It all came to below £20 per person. The bar staff were lovely. I asked abou
So glad the owner let us off the hook for not eating our vegetables 😅! In all honesty though, this is a great place with great service, friendly people, and amazing food! We got their pie and drink special and tried the Steak & Nicholson’s Pale Ale Pie and Sweet Potato & Goat Cheese Pie and they wer
We had my Grandsons christening at The Old Buttermarket and it was a lovely occasion. The part we had the event in was away from the main bar of the pub and it was perfect for us. The food was absolutely fantastic and enjoyed by everyone. Our waitress Rose was so lovely and attentive and went around
Great food but must get in early as they ran out of menu options but still was tastiest burger I had... Very freindly and dogs welcome too.. My only gripe was price of two normal bottles of coke and two pints of berry cider was in my opinion too expensive...nearly £20 ....food was exceptional price
Very nice to sit and drink a beer or just sit and eat something. Very good service. I just thought it wasn't very warm inside.
We had a celebratory lunch for a group of 11 of us today. The food was delicious and the timing between the courses perfect. Good selection of drinks as well. The staff were really great, efficient, warm and friendly.
Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, delicious food, served indoors or out in the old Buttermarket. Ancient pub with a history dating back to the medieval period, and with tunnels leading to the Cathedral. According to a local historian whom we met during our visit, late arriving pilgrims would p
