I went there today and it was a lovely experience. We ordered platters to share, and although expensive it was definitely quality over quantity. The staff were lovely and very chatty. I adore all of the puddings served but today I had a Japanese Cheesecake which was light, fluffy and scrumptious.

The food here is quite nice and price is also affordable especially since I’m a student. Got an extra of 25% discount too 😋
The sushi is okay, I’ve had better, but well if you’re craving for one, it’s not the worse
I love the Korean BBQ Fried Chicken one. It’s bit spicy but also sweet.
The fries was just additional that we had
The chicken katsu curry ramen was lovely. Really suitable for the cold weather.
Also not in photo was the chuka wakamen(or the green seaweed); my favourite so far!
And most importantly, you can have as many ginger as you want here! Kkk
PS: If you love spicy, you can ask for the chili powder to the waiter directly

Definitely an experience! Loved it! The terayaki beef sumo was too salty for my liking, I queried this with the waitress and was advised it looked correct, left it as I just couldn't eat it, and they never charged me, really nice gesture so put this money as the tip! Will go again

Armed forces discount (with code from Defence Discount app) would be even better on thier 'Blue monday' (may dishes only £3). Nice for an early/light lunch, as it isn't crowded.

Fantastic experience! As a person who's never eaten sushi before, I was unsure what to expect. Now I intend to be a reoccurring customer! Food is incredibly good quality with a fast service, staff were incredibly nice and the place was very well kept. Granted, it is expensive (I ordered three items ranging in price and spend a little under £15) but the fact that it's all freshly made and incredibly tasty makes it very much worth it. Thanks so much!

Popped in for some dinner earlier, the service was great. Ordered some Japanese fried chicken and it took a while but the man who prepared it gave me extra for free as he dropped some the first time and was kind enough to go the extra mile to make the wait worth it. The sushi was awesome and my only thing I will say is it set me back around £35 for 7 bowls! But as it’s freshly made I will let this one pass. Worth the experience and thanks again for great service.

Great service, really tasty sushi, and fairly reasonably priced especially with the student discount.

Very good food. Nice service.

Great food, great atmosphere, loved it!

Very tasty japanese inspired food. All of the dishes are small and although we didn't initially think much of the 4-5 dishes each recommendation, we ended up with 3 each and could appreciate the advice. There was a good of amount on the menu to choose from and got very excited watching the chefs prepare our food.

We nipped in around 8pm for a quick bite. Wasn’t too busy and staff were friendly and polite. That’s where the compliments end I’m afraid. There was very little variety on the conveyor belt so we ordered a few dishes. The delay was huge. I’m a yo regular and this was a very long wait. I was sat for quite a while not eating. I ordered one dish and after 15 mins ordered another dish thinking that I’d get one then the next when I’d finished. Wrong. A further 15 minutes and I finally got both dishes at the same time. When my gyoza came it had no dipping sauce. We were sat at the belt and the kitchen had trays of raw fish and uncovered food on the side in front of us for the whole hour we were in there. Most of the time one chef in particular didn’t wear plastic gloves and didn’t wash his hands once. The sink was in front of us. In fact none of the staff did moving between raw fish and handling cooked foods without gloves. Twice we watched him rub his nose then handle food. Literally wiped his nose with his hand and started mixing vegetables with the same hand. I had ordered dessert whilst my friend was still eating. Bearing in mind it wasn’t busy and mochi comes in a packet from the fridge I waited and waited...my friend finished eating and settled his bill with the female server. A few minutes later the male server asked if I wanted my dessert to go. I said no I’d eat in. 10mins later he asked if he could get us anything, I said I was waiting for dessert. He said as we’d settled he had cancelled the order. I explained my bill wasn’t settled, that I was waiting he apologised and said he wouldn’t charge us. He told the chef. The chef who hadn’t washed his hands and wasn’t wearing gloves and had kept rubbing his nose and beard....this chef put my dessert on a plate with his bare hands and handed them to me. My friend complained and we decided to forfeit dessert.
I love yo sushi a lot and the staff were very nice to speak to but I think the service was shocking, the food hygiene standards had slipped and they seemed to be a lot of messy rushed food coming out when they had time to dance about. If you have time to mess around you have time to clear down. Very disorganised.

Went to Yo on the 8th Feb, was greeted as soon as we came in the door and sat in a lovely booth! The manager came over to take our drinks orders and brought them over within minutes! The belt had a great selection and our hot food order was taken also very quickly, the furikake fries were cooked to perfection, I’ve eaten in a lot of Yo’s but these were by far the best I’ve ever had and the chicken wings (new addition to the Canterbury menu) were the best I’ve actually ever had! This is my go to restaurant and I’ll bring all my friends here!! Thank you so much for everyone’s great service especially the manager who couldn’t do enough for our table!

Good food when it arrived. Very poor service tonight, incompetent waitresses, very difficult to get their attention even with the call bell. Had to ask on two separate occasions for her to bring our TWO drinks. Then missed two meals off of our order and then completely misordered another meal I had to pay for. No discount or apologies given, when I informed them we didn’t have a very good experience one of the waitresses said ‘aaah’ and walked away. Won’t go again, won’t recommend. Very poorly managed. Plus no new food on belt the whole time we were there, only 2 circulating dishes, where some were due to be removed before we even arrived. Waitresses socialising not working.

Popped in for a quick bite for lunch today and was thrilled with the service I received. The staff remember my favourite dishes every time I come in and ask if I want to order as soon as I’m seated as generally I am in a bit of a rush. The food was absolutely delicious. Had to wait a little while for my salmon teriyaki however I realise this is a restaurant and not a fast food outlet and the quality of the food and service supersedes the very minor issue of having to wait a few minutes. Thank you once again to the Canterbury Yo Sushi restaurant for a delightful lunch.

The food itself was pretty tasty and the staff were all very polite but......
It took along time for the food to arrive; the teriyaki beef felt like it got forgotten then rushed at the end. One of the chef blokes kept rubbing his nose without gloves on and then hands straight on the food he was preparing.
Uncovered cooked prawn and raw fish sat on a counter for an hour or so.
Though they were polite, we left our dessert and got a McFlurry instead. Very disappointed and it wasn’t even busy.
I won’t go back here and I love the Yo!
WTF!

I ordered a chicken noodle takeaway for £4.95 and am genuinely shocked at the size of the portion, it was beyond small, maybe the size you would give to a 3 year old. With only 4 fatty bits of chicken. Tasted good but still hungry after, won’t be going there for my lunch break again. Rip off.

Thank you team Yo! for taking care of us on #greenwednesday even though the place was slammed (no doubt hungry vegans flocking, like me!) Amazing food and good service!
Christian Gill
Amazing food for the price and the best staff you good possibly imagine, I will be spending all my wages in here for the foreseeable future!

Great customer service and the quality of the food is always to a high standard. I would recommend Yo! Sushi Canterbury to anyone looking to try something new for lunch or dinner.

I usually love yo sushi, and the dishes I ate today were fine, albeit sliced a bit on the thinner side than normal. Unfortunately there really wasn't much variety on the belt, and in the 45 minutes we were there only 3 new dishes were put on the belt - fruit salad, tuna sashimi (yellow plate!) and a sushi roll plate there was already plenty of on the belt! We both ordered dishes. The chicken katsu curry, which took 15 minutes to arrive, and chicken katsu that took over 30 minutes (!!) and looked like it had already been chewed on! We sent that back and asked for the bill. The waiter (?manager?) seemed to think this is an acceptable amount of time to wait in busy periods (never had to wait that long at bluewater, lakeside or Liverpool one). He then failed to offer me my receipt, just walking off after my payment had gone through! Will travel to bluewater in future!

We popped in we visit our son where he studied there and the staff are very accomodating and friendly. Very nice food as well.

Came to yo! Today for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised with how high the quality of food was. I don’t like sushi but I was told there were other options and I love everything I tried! The spicy pepper squid and the beef Teriyaki were my favourites
Rosa La Cinesa
The food is alright, nothing special, just a few vegan options. The service was really bad, it was really hard to get the waitresses attention even if the restaurant was empty. I do not reccomend it at all.

By far the best yo! I've been to! I love the restaurant, the atmosphere is great and it really has a personal feel. The food is stunning and the service is next to none. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get tickets for the live music night but I can't wait for the next event they put on, 100% I'm going!

Went to Yo in Canterbury last night for a birthday celebration. I was unusually disappointed by the service... we received 15 out of the 16 dishes ordered and they all came at different times and it’s not like they were busy as we arrived at 6.45. Some dishes seemed to be a bit sparse. I’m not sure I’d visit this Yo again in a hurry. 😒
Oana Marin
Everything was amazing! Great food and great service, definetly be back in there!
Tamsin McCann
Food was ok, but not much variety unless you ordered. Ordered chicken katsu for my children, was told it would be 15-20 minutes as they were busy. Wouldn't have been an issue, but it took almost an hour and got the wrong thing. Asked if the replacement could be cooked straight away, still hadn't come 20 minutes later when we left. I bought the girls a hot dog instead! Manageress seemed a little snappy, so guess we weren't the first to have issues!

Fast and efficient service with great fresh tasting sushi, definitely a step above the rest!

Service absolutely rubbish, food ok nothing special, the Korean opposite is much better!!!

Your alarm is still going off no one is there. Please send someone to disable it until you can fix it.

Great food, great atmosphere! Definitely will come back!

Your unopened store alarm keeps going off, and has done since 5 this evening. It's nearly midnight. Please send someone to fix this. People live above, across, and around this location. We like to sleep (just as much or more than we like sushi).

I love Yo! I always will, you guys never fail to make my day!
