Great pub great service and great beer and spirits and the bar staff and owner is friendly and nice and good to talk to
Lovely little pub with a suntrap garden. Locals and bar staff were friendly. Cherry the cat was beautiful too.
Traditional pub. Lovely Sunday roast, eaten in the, very pleasant, beer garden. As one of our group described it - lunch was just like her Nanna used to make. Beautifully cooked. Excellent all round.
Superb, Sunday lunch everything you would expect, excellent service and beer to match, traditional English pub, not many left now so put this on your list.
Decent pub. They offer limited food and drink, as is to be expected from a small pub in Canterbury, but the vibe is very nice. Homey, proper pub atmosphere. However, it is too pricey for a Canterbury pub- running at London prices. £4.20 for a pint of Guinness!
Still, good pub. I would go again.
Whenever I visit Canterbury the Eight Bells is a must. Its one of that dying breed: a real pub, with real staff like Landlady Kim and real customers. It gets busy on the weekends, so for a quieter visit weekdays are best. On Sunday, it's roasts are legendary. I strongly recommend what is the best pub in the city.
Good honest pub with excellent beer, a small grumpy dog and a medium sized cat. Genuinely recommend on all levels whether you be tourist or neighbour, you'll feel at home in the 8 bells.
Just had one of the best Roast dinners I have ever had, great home cooking, friendly atmosphere, and welcoming staff. If you're in Canterbury you should definitely visit the Eight Bells.
Fantastic local, great service and a good local fun group. Ale is always clean, garden looks great and has a very inclusive crowd. 100% recommend this place
Lovely traditional pub. The beer was good, the staff and locals were friendly. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Canterbury.
