I Giardini Di Sorrento is justifiably the best Italian Restaurant in Wales. The food is always outstanding and the service is second to none. After my last visit and an excellent Wild Boar Ravioli, I really fancied pizza for the weekend, so dropped in for a takeaway the following evening. Whether you turn up for a full on meal, or just to pick up a take away, Max always has time for you and makes you welcome, Suffice to say the Pizza Montanara was incredible.

I had a lovely experience at Giardini, come with my children and wife. Staf very friendly, as they say Italian love children and went extra mile to make us welcome, welcoming us and if we wanted a special request for a children they would do accomodate our request. Service is just spot on. Food is very good tasty and fresh. They prepare food from scratch in this beautiful family restaurant, which i could see an italian lady cooking too. Pratocally whatever you eat here they make it, from pizza dough to pasta's. We ordered frittura di calamari which was delocious,i could see they change oil often, because the fried Calamari had a lovely light color. I ordered green ravioli and was delicious, homemade staffed pasta with spinavh. Beautiful. My wife and kids had pizza, the dough is well proved for at least 24 hours what i can guess, as when you eat the pizza, the dough dont sit and ferment in your stomach, of course i tested, and had lovely taste with nice ingredients, Affumicata pizza. The service outstanding. Reminds me like home in Italy. In this small family run restaurant i found Trough love of service and food. I definately raccomended.

The second time coming here after 2 years and it's still faultless! Evrything from the service, the food, the friendliness was amazing. The four of us were out for my mothers birthday and they made it truly special. We had the 2 mixed platters for white bait and then mixed cured meats to start, incredible! Then we all had a home made pasta dish and is something not to be missed (they make their own pasta!!). I had the special of wild boar ravioli, wow! And so filling, even for a big eater like me. Deserts were 2x specials of canoli, tiramisu & i had the cheese cake, Each one too good to describe with words. With Every bite of each course we were in awe. I can't recommend this place enough and there is no doubt that we will be back! Keep up the good work as restaurants like this are very hard to find in cardiff these days

Previously I did not pay enough notice to the rotating menu and just ordered from the set menu only. The menu on blackboard would change once the ingredients run out. Though it is not my first visit, the hospitality was still quite impressive. The dessert cheesecake was delicious and I have taken a couple more as takeaways. Really good experience!

My friends and I ordered one bottle of wine, one bottle of water and a bowl of pasta each (the three of us), no starters, no dessert. We each paid £25, which is very expensive above all because the service is not particularly impressive. The mushrooms in my plate tasted of nothing like the ones I buy myself in the shop. I couldn't taste anything "Italian" or different from what I can cook at home (I am Italian by the way). Same experience with ELGANO in Cardiff where the bruschetta was served on a baguette (French) slice of bread which is not "Italian" at all.

We first visited this restaurant after returning from our honeymoon to Sorrento two and a half years ago, and have been hooked ever since. Last night we went as a group of 6 (3 couples), and once again failed to find any fault at all. Massimo and his staff are so welcoming and accommodating, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The food is absolutely stunning, and the specials board is constantly changing and evolving. Some of my personal favourites are the lamb lasagne, wild boar ravioli, and the venison ragu which I had last night. If there is a dish you like that isn't on the menu, don't be afraid to ask and they will always try their best to accommodate you if possible. Their deserts are always home made and whenever we have visited, there has always been something new on offer that we've never heard of! Beware though... Massimo does not understand the meaning of portion control! So you will end up with a desert large enough to feed a family of 4 😄 When you visit Massimo and his team for yourself, you will soon realise why they are winning awards year after year after year! Grazie Massimo! See you again soon!

My partner and I visited for a Valentine’s Day meal and were transported from a dark, wet, cold Cardiff to the warmth and happiness of Sorrento. Beautiful music and atmosphere and spectacular lobster, pasta with Gorgonzola and walnut sauce and completed with the most luscious Limoncello gâteau. Torneremo presto certamente ❤️

Fab little place, not a chain. A quirky little place with fab food and super friendly service. Plus they have cannoli for desert, my wife’s favourite! We have eaten here several times and keep coming back for more.

Booked here due to recommendation Nice ambience and friendly staff. We had a voucher for free prosecco which which was great The meal upon reflection did not really live to expectations and was somewhat procey for pasta . The deserts were oversized and tasted 'artificial'. The tiramisu was covered with a sweet chocolate sauce . If I could rate the restaurant for atmosphere I would give it at least 4 but considering the food I cannot .

This is one of the better Italian restaurants in Cardiff with a down stairs restaurant and another dining room upstairs which combined, sits about 100 covers. We dined on a Monday which was not so busy. Our first dish was an antipasto compost del salumiere which is a platter for 2 comprising Italian meats, mozzarella cheese, olives, vegetables and a basket of bread costing £17.50 which put us in a good mood. We both selected the same main course which was a special of the day, being black gnocchi seafood made of potato gnocchi, mussels and oysters in a sauce. It tasted even better with a bottle of Nuance Falanghina del Sannio D.O.C. at 13% volume. Most of the wines on offer were Italian. For dessert I just made a pig of myself after watching another diner tucking into the tiramisu traditional which you could tell was fresh and presumably house made which weighed in at £5.95. Toilets upstairs but the real influence was the bus stop for the return into Churchill Way, Cardiff, which was right outside the front door. The outward bus stop is "The Infirmary" which is only 2 stops from Churchill Way. The bus route travels to the Heath hospital. The restaurant has a hygiene standard of 5 stars. Friendly staff.
