Visited with friends and the ambience and food were great. Wine was also fantastic and would recommend the Navajas Rioja

Absolutely dreadful service at 4.30 pm , not even half full so no excuse ? Waited half an hour for a drink ? No San Miguel , food came in dribs and drabs , meatballs were served as 3 dried up ( looked like they had come off somebody’s left over plate ), no sauce ? And a pile of potatoes with them ? Uncertain as to if we had someone else’s order I took them to the bar ? After a lot of questioning I was told it was our meatballs order but they’d run out of meatballs ( 5pm on Valentine’s Day ) so basically instead of telling us that and offering something as replacement ? They chanced serving us that !!! Then our squid turned up ?? Not tempura batter !! And we dissected one piece to find a small vein of squid !! Shocking !! Skewers were lovely and dates in bacon , miraculously then a dish of meatballs in sauce turned up ?? My glass of water cane Luke warm no ice , no effort .Shocking service, unacceptable quality of food . Plenty of apologies ( when they realised we weren’t happy to put up with such an appalling experience ). They seemed pleased with themselves that they had deducted the meatballs and squid from our bill !! ? What a terrible experience . Also ? No complimentary olives / bread offered , though we had been told that it was standard in there ??

First time we had eaten at Santiagos and I wish we had visited sooner! My husband & I had a selection to share from the tapas menu - 5 dishes, as well as some bread, and it was more than plenty. Each dish was delicious and moorish! Service was great and it all was very reasonably priced. I'd 100% recommend this lovely place to anyone!!

Went early evening, On anTuesday, having booked a few weeks previously. When we arrived they were placing the reserved signs out on tables and it looked as if most tables had been pre booked. We opted for tapas and ordered 3 plates each and there was more than enough food - in fact we couldn’t finish a few of the dishes. They were all delicious but my favourite was the paella. I recommend this place and would advise booking beforehand.

It was hard to choose from the menu ad so many nice dishes. We picked 6 dishes between us included in this was the octopus dish this was so tender and tasty. We also had the baby squid, a lamb stew, prawns, chicken skewers and we couldn't forget the potatas bravas. All were fab the waiting on staff were very attentive and polite. Would definitely go here again. The restaurant was down a lovely side street and gsd s lovely atmosphere.

I’m biased as I’ve eaten here before with the wife. This time however we had to return with the kids. We foolishly in hindsight hadn’t booked a table which was daft as it was a Friday early evening the day before Wales played Italy. We were extremely lucky however and although busy we managed to get a table for the four of us. My one daughter ordered a burger and the three of us ordered nine plates of Tapas. A bit extreme but we all fancied something different. The stand out for me was the octopus- not something I’d order but it was absolutely delicious. So too the Calamari and paella I’ve posted a few pics of the dishes I’d highly recommend you put this place on your “Must Visit “ list as coupled with the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service it really is a great place to eat.

Not been open too long but I've been lucky to go twice already. Once as a group of 12, once as a 4-some. Both times the food has been served promptly, tasty and well portioned/priced. Its a great blend of value and quality. Will be back again.

We're in Cardiff enjoying a day out with my family and to celebrate my birthday we wanted to have some home food and the result was amazing! We had a few starters (the croquetas are spot on!) and then we shared a stunning mixed paella for 2 which we all thought was better than some we have had in our country (Spain). The chef gave us some Ali Oli source he just finished cooking and again, it was a magnificent example of how good Spanish food can be cooked our country. Well done all, great service as well in a busy lunchtime. Definitely will recommend to friends, Spanish and British!! ;)

Visited last night with 20 plus friends. This was my first visit but now not my last. I found a huge ray of Spanish sunshine, warmth and hospitality on a cold winter Saturday. The proprietors and staff were so kind and friendly especially the waitress who realized my salad had onions, I have IBS and changed it before even serving it. Food and service great,a cosy atmosphere. Just loved it. Thank you to you all for a super night. Fran

Small but authentic Spanish restaurant with friendly Spanish staff in a central location. Great selection of well priced tapas, can highly recommend the octopus, incredible dish and the prawns pil pil is probably the closest I have tasted to the mainland Spain offering in the UK. With both Estrella & Mahou lagers on draft it completes the authentic feel. If you are a fan of tapas, well worth a visit.

Excellent food and service beautifully presented which was quickly prepared when we had to dash off to a local consert at St David's Hall. The food certainly brought a touch warmth and sunshine on a very damp Cardiff night.

Having initially not been able to book due to its popularity, we got a last minute table - and now we know why it is so popular. Delicious, plentiful and authentic. Not often you can say all of those three things when eating tapas! Very good value, too. We’d go again today if we could!

We were looking for somewhere to eat after a Rugby game. We liked the look of Santiagos and by chance they had a table for 2 free near the window. The welcome was very warm, we felt at home. Advice was given on the number of dishes we should order and recommendations given on the choice of Tapas. While we waited for the food to arrive we drank some very nice Rioja, not hat we had to wait long. The food was absolutely fabulous, much better than other places we have been to for Tapas. The amount was just about right. Certainly a find, we have been singing it's praises to friends. Well worth a visit, we shall certainly go back next time we are in Cardiff.

I’ve heard a lot about Santiago’s, so let’s give a go. Great food, very good service, I was really impressed. It’s a lovely restaurant, not expensive. Can’t wait to go back.

As visitors to the city we had the foresight to book a table in this restaurant, and just as well we did. Even though it was a Thursday evening and early the place was buzzing. The atmosphere was lively, the food delicious and service very quick. Staff were friendly. There was a good choice of Tapas, several of which suited the vegetarians amongst us. A great restaurant.
