Had a fantastic meal in the evening. The restaurant, quality of food, service and French wine were all amazing. Would highly recommend it.

Came here with my husband, brother in law and his girlfriend. They'd been before so knew about the bottomless gin dinner. I had the smoked haddock risotto followed by the creme brulee, both amazing, big portions and really tasty. My husband had the ox cheek bourginon and chocolate tart, both were equally as good. We managed 4 gins each in the hour and a half time slot. Staff were really attentive. Fab value for £26.95 each on a Saturday night! We will definitely come here again, hopefully before it becomes an Italian, but will happily try that too when they're up and running.

Went for a meal at this establishment. 1. You need to purchase a new automatic door closer to stop the draft blowing in as the door isn’t closing correctly. We had to keep standing up and closing the door every time new customers came in. 2. Salt and pepper which is on the table doesn’t work if you shake it, not at all usable and pretty pointless. 3. Food is absolutely outstanding and plenty. Enjoyed the soup and the crusty bread floating with cheese. 4. Lamb was amazing and plenty full, perfectly cooked broccoli (just wish there was more haha) the sauce was rich and tasty too. 5. Great friendly service, attentive and polite. Will return and thank you for a nice evening, hope you pick up those first two points above. Will recommend to friends and family to try your restaurant.

Just had a delicious breakfast at the pot bistro, really set me up for a long day at work. Nice coffee, good atmosphere, and can tell is cooked fresh.

This place is going from strength to strength. The food is amazing, the atmosphere welcoming and cheerful and the prices reasonable. Perfect combo. Whitchurch Rd is really starting to become hotspot for local welsh food, rivalling the much pricier Pontcanna already.

This place is truly fantastic! The atmosphere, food, and staff were excellent. The best restaurant I’ve been to in Cardiff for some time. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you!

Had fancied a trip here for a long while, then they popped up on first table (meaning half price on all food!) so I couldn't resist. Booked a table for 6pm on a thursday and amazingly were the only people in there! The quality of food and service was impeccable. Seriously worth a look, prices are very reasonable without the first table discount! Will be returning.

Our first visit but definitely won’t be the last! They’ve got it spot on for me, nice atmosphere, good service, excellent food. Wide range of meals, from light through to the full works.

I was looking for a coffee shop on Whitchurch Road and game across the Pot Bistro and took my wife and daughter there for Sunday lunch yesterday - it was quite simply wonderful. Delicious food and courteous staff and we will be returning this week to celebrate my wife's birthday.

Visited here today with my family for Sunday lunch. After reading the reviews on trip advisor I really wanted to check this place out! I had carried out loads of research on where to go for Sunday lunch! This ranged from Cardiff to Cowbridge! All I can say if you are thinking of going somewhere where the food is amazing, the setting is really cute and relaxed, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming then don’t hesitate to book. Originally I sent an email asking if I could book. They responded really promptly and were really accommodating as they were pretty full! To be honest from walking into this bistro it had such a nice ambience. Which is always a good start :). The staff were really sweet, we didn’t have to wait long at all for our food and the Welsh lamb was out of this world! For starters I had smoked mackerel pate! Yum!! For the main course I had the lamb it was so tender and the veg was cooked to perfection! I demolished the whole plate! Which is a rarity! I am not a big fan of desserts! But my family are and ordered the creme Brulee. They said it was delicious! I have never written a review on trip advisor before as I have never been to a restaurant where the food was so outstanding that it warranted any feedback. All I can say is check this place out and defo book :)

Ooh I really thought that I had found the perfect little French bistro in Cardiff at last after sampling the delicious French onion soup on offer as a special for Sunday lunch today at The Pot but sadly it was not to be as the main courses of beef Bourgogne and baked chicken with seasonal veg were so very disappointing and had nothing ‘French ‘ about them . The staff were lovely and did not charge for the Beef which my husband barely touched as he found a severe lack of red wine and flavor in the meal. The Yorkshire’s ( a totally unnecessary touch we thought ) were dry and tough and the veg were an uninspiring selection however other guests seemed to be really enjoying their lunches so perhaps we were just unlucky .

Wether we eat brunch lunch or dinner at this fabulous old style eatery, we always want to return. Definitely the best place to dine in Cardiff. Great (perfectly volumed ) music, Lovely staff and a great ambience. All allergies more than catered for. This lovely place has really hit the nail on the head in terms of service and quality. We’re looking forward to our next visit on Sunday.

Myself and 5 other friends visited this lovely quaint restaurant last Friday and what an experience it was. The food was outstanding and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The menu catered for all of us and was also very well priced. Highly recommend booking a table if you want a nice evening out and great food.

Discovered this place last night and only disappointed that we didn’t find it sooner! Great service and delicious food at reasonable prices. Will definitely be coming back.

We attended for the Bottomless 2 course dinner. We selected gin cocktails and the whole experience was a delight. The staff were friendly. The gins were flowing and the food was exceptional. No complaints. Just go and enjoy!

Me and my friend Sam have made a habit of returning to this institution. Whether it's the full breakfast or the Sunday lunch, this bistro is not one to mistro. When arriving at your table, your breakfast has it all. Let me set the scene; perfectly cooked scrambled eggs (none of these rubbery curds getting churned out by the likes of many a "restaurant" in Cardiff), thick bacon, a sausage masterclass, baked beans in a rich tomato sauce, two thick slices of scrumptious white toast and the holy grail of this plate, the Glamorgan Sausage. I'm not entirely sure of what makes up this glamorgan sausage. All I can say for certain is that it involves leeks, cheese and provides a somewhat sexual experience on the palate. This treat is almost too good. All this talk about the food at the pot and I haven't even mentioned the coffee. Forgive me god, for I have sinned. In short, The Pot serves up what could very well be, the best flat white in North Cardiff. This Bistro really is not one to mistro.

Came here as a group of girls for the bottomless brunch and we had such a lovely time! We felt the brunch was excellent value for money, £24.95 for 2 courses and unlimited gin cocktails or prosecco! Most places only do 1 course so it was a lovely to be able to have a dessert as well. The food itself was very tasty and presentation of the desserts was top notch. Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming (unfortunately I can’t remember his name) and he looked after us well; always making sure our glasses were topped up! Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend to others.

First time at this lovely little restaurant on Whitchurch Road. It was recommended to us & I’m very glad we tried it. 2 courses for £16.95 - very good value. We had crab arancini to start (superb) followed by one pork loin roast & one fresh seared tuna. The portions were so generous we weren’t able to try the desserts! My husband is Sicilian & is never completely happy when eating out but he was full of praise & keen to return to try the evening menu. Do try.

Partner and I popped in for brunch. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and quick service. I had a camembert, red onion chutney, and bacon sandwich with chips. Really excellent sandwich and proper thick cooked chips.
