We had a really lovely meal before our show at the New Theatre! Beautiful fresh food, presented really well. We had Sword fish and lamb cutlets, they were cooked to perfection! Really nice to visit a Traditional Italian restaurant in city centre location. The staff were really friendly and attentive

Very welcoming restaurant staff, who are polite & helpful. Giovanni, as usual was also very welcoming & talked to all the customers in the restaurant. A very good evening was had by all. The food was delicious & the wine good.

Of course itās 5 star after 40 years cooking for Cardiff wales is truly a stop off ! If your enjoying a show at the theatre, opera house or just site seeing stop and eat & enjoy Italian cooking to the best ! Seating outside alfresco! Gio brought Alfresco eating to Cardiff !
Decent portions and the food was well cooked and presented. Itās a personal taste issue but the photos everywhere of famous people who have eaten there feels a little crass and dated.

Visited Giovanniās to celebrate my sonās 21st birthday. There were 11 of us in total. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and nice decor. The service from all the staff was excellent and a particularly nice, personal touch was Francesca volunteering to take some group photos and to take time to chat
Food was excellent portions were big, I recommend the lasagna itās homemade. I ate alone was in town for work and staying nearby. It was very comfortable lovely atmosphere very homely. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Top marks from me.
As i was in cantering running my own business for years im very critical so if i wasn't happy i would say so but food was hot tasty portion size was just right and best ive had in a long time service was spot on staff very happy and friendly would definitely recommend anyone to go and try it out y
