Fab eve great food & service lovely atmosphere & singer was the icing on the cake in fact took the family back for lunch today as my grandson has 2 have gluten free food & fab choice gluten free menu best I’ve come across for choice would recommend!
Had a great time Saturday evening for our ladies only family Christmas meal.
Food was outstanding, music was fab especially the singer, staff were great fun and very accommodating ( a couple of our group were quite inebriated � )...
very relaxed happy atmosphere, a real hidden gem this place is we will definitely be back xx
Had an enjoyable night here Saturday night. Live music, tasty food, huge portions & cheap drinks. No table service so you order at the bar, food came out really quickly. Nice beer garden with heaters out the back too.
Super cool place, the vibes were great. I went with a group of 11 girls and we all chose to get cocktails with our meal which arrived very quickly AND were 2 for 1!! We were very happy. The service was so good especially considering the size of the group, sometimes when you go to places with that many people it can be such a struggle to even get the correct meal and things often get mixed up, but at Irie Shack it went so well and no one was left hungry or disappointed. The only suggestion I would make is that the curry pots need a bit more flavour or spice, I'm no chef but it felt like it was lacking something which I can't quite put my finger on, also there was some confusion over whether we had to pay for the jerk sauce as some of use where charge a pound and others where given for free (nothing major just something worthy of mentioning) Overall I would definitely go again, everyone was super friendly and we all left very satisfied and with full tummy.
Good tasting food. We had stewed chicken and curried goat. Portion sizes were generous. Prices were reasonable.
I would prefer waiting service instead of having to go inside to the bar. The crockery seemed a little tired, I guess it could add to the family type ambience. The tables were a little dirty. Staff could have been a little more friendly.
But overall, I would go again despite my comments as the food was worth it.

Food very a reasonably priced and tasted very good. The portions, especially the pots are large, so beware of ordering too much.

Red stripe bear is nice. 3 main meals with sides and a beer was about £50, which I thought was a good price .
I would give 5 stars but they forgot our dumpling sides. For some reason they showed on my receipt but not on the order ticket that was printed for the kitchen. It was quickly rectified.
Lovely dishes provided from the Jerk Pit, Extremely reasonable (around £9 a dish) has a great meal! Seen here is the lemon chicken skewers and Red Snapper fish, the food is well spiced especially the mango slaw! the cocktails for £7.95 a pair is also a steal. Well worth a visit for some great and well priced food! Only complaint is the music was abruptly load for four guests dining near close, couldn't hold a steady conversation with it.
Something different and worth a visit, great friendly atmosphere and simple but tasty food served in a traditional style - not expensive either and good sized portions. The coconut chicken is especially good if you like a mildly spiced dish
This has been a favourite spot of mine for a long time, and continues to be! Returning to Cardiff I knew I had to have dinner here and I was not disappointed!! The BBQ burger was delicious as ever as were the Sweet Potato Fries!! Plus the cocktails were fabulous, far better than the Turtle Bay chain that has a similar concept. Can’t wait to visit again when next in Cardiff!
After dining there last week, eating the hot curry chicken with a side of sweet potato fries and dumplings. It came to my attention this was probably the best meal I've had ever. I went last year ever moving back from Scandinavia where carribbean food or hot food in general is non existence. This place more than delivers. Food is excellent, decor nice and bright, 2-4-1 on Cocktails and very welcoming staff. I will be back.
Really nice staff, good food with large portions! The night we went they had live music from a great female singer that made the evening even more enjoyable.
Great unpretentious & lively Caribbean restaurant with great food & lots of cocktail options and deals. Really enjoyed our meal & drinks here with a large group of friends.
