A nice bar located in the city centre of Cardiff, the waitress gives warm and good service. It serves good Welsh food better than restaurants, recommended dishes included Lamb Cawl, Welsh rarebit bites and Cardiff beer SA Gold.

I ordered a lamb cawl today, and it tasted brilliant! The price was very affordable and reasonable. Plus, Jack is such a lovely guy and always there to help. Highly recommended!

Nice introduction to Welsh specialties like the Welsh rarebit, lamb cawl and Glamorgan sausage. The Glamorgan sausage was the best of them all! The Welsh rarebit seemed rather ordinary and I found the lamb cawl to be somewhat bland. Still managed to finish the food though!

Was looking for a local place to try some Welsh food. Hit the spot! Rarebit was lovely, sausages and mash was good, mash had leeks through it, sausages were mid range but I’m paying mid range so fair enough. Had the creme brûlée for dessert, was nice with a brittle top. Staff are very nice and caring and you can tell that they make a nice team.

Nice intimate bar ! Delicious veggie breakfast served until 2pm. Super friendly staff and nice enough to allow breakfast order just on the limit as I was there at 1.56 or so, I was very grateful. I absolutely loved the decor 😍 ❤️ and their menu design and the little Hendricks tea cups and my favourite tea bags PG... vintage and antique yet fresh and up-to-date with their cocktail selection and will definitely try on next visit, today it was a bit too early for that.👌 😍 🙌

Nice bar, with a good atmosphere, serving tasty food and drinks. You can tell that the front of house staff enjoy working here as this is reflected by the excellent service. It was my first time trying Welsh rarebit, so it’s difficult to compare with other restaurants serving the same dish but, it was tasty and I would have it again. For mains the Glamorgan sausages and the mash were nice but there was too much gravy for my liking that it overpowered the other flavors…perhaps they should serve the gravy is a separate gravy boat. Overall, a nice bar and eatery that I would recommend if you want to try some “local” Welsh dishes.

Had a really great dinner here on Saturday night. Seated outside and it started raining and no sooner had my girlfriend said "oh, it's raining" the overhead canopy was already being deployed. We had Welsh rarebit bites, a burger and a chicken dish. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun with 80s/90s tunes. Service was friendly and quick and our waiter had the greatest hair I have ever seen - mad props to the guy it was glorious! Will definitely pop in again whenever we're in town.

A delightful place for breakfast. The full vegetarian Welsh was fantastic, and the Bloody Marys are good and spicy.

Brilliant place to eat and drink. Staff really polite and attentive. Slight quibble over the starter but it was sorted immediately . Would have liked to have left a larger tip but we had no more cash!!
A gem of a place.

Had a delicious late lunch here, ordered the lamb cawl, so full of flavour. Thank you to all the staff for great service. Will definitely be back again.

Great little place championing welsh produce in the buzzing Mill Lane cafe bar quarter. With seats inside and out, you can enjoy food and drink in a lovely atmosphere. The service was very good and helpful.

Overall pleasantly surprising. Croquettes were fabulous and the roast was really nice. I would definitely recommend!!

Americans in Cardiff. Tiny, authentic, independent bar. Good food, including vegetarian options. Shout out to El, the bar tender for making a Hot Toddy! Tasty Welsh rarebit toast (see pic; was four pieces in the order).

Great typical food in fair price. Absolutely recommendable.

We had already had dinner before coming to Pitch so we had a sangria pitcher and creme brulee. Both were really good and the service was exceptional! We intend to visit again to try their food.

This is a great little bar. The service here was great and staff were friendly and helpful. Great place to go for a drink, food looked really good. Will definitely be returning to trying.

nice food, a decent selection of Welsh dishes (which is what we were after!) and cheery Al fresco seating. they don't play music of their own, but that's good, because the pub next door does (and it's decently loud). inexpensive drinks as well.

We were looking a place to try some welsh dishes at it was the perfect choice! Despite not having a huge list of mains we could try beef, chicken and fish with diferentes options. Quantity was ok and really really tasty! Would definetly recommend it for anybody is visiting Cardiff!

Bought through Groupon as a gift. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Can't say the same for the food. Served on a plate not a sharing platter as stated. Plates were hot food, was cold and to me just tasted of Rosemary, which I thought was odd. So staff great but food a letdown.

30th anniversary gift of afternoon tea 4/4/17 very poor would definitely not recommend food not as advertised if you can't provide the service then take it off the menu.
Best thing was the Tea and Prosecco everything else not worth it so disappointed that my niece paid for a very very bad service.

Unfortunately, the food was not the best! Over cooked chicken so not at all juicy. The Microwaved cheese on it was so hot it was a congealed mess. And triple cooked frozen chips!.....
Sorry won’t return

The best breakfast ever, it was like an angel squatted over my mouth and pissed bacon into it.
Lissa Ovdenlate
The barman was really lovely and welcoming but the afternoon tea was awful. Bread was stale and had mold. Cakes were shop bought and cheap. Other people had food whilst we were there and that looked nice.
A groupon afternoon tea here, is not recommended. It was a gift for me and at £18, it should have been a great deal better.

Went for an afternoon tea with a Groupon voucher. Food was lovely friendly staff would highly recommend would visit again.

This was our first time here in the daytime. (Have been a customer of an evening before). We booked an afternoon tea for four. On arrival our table was set up ready with some very quaint crockery. There were a few other tables with customers on but we had no wait for service at all. The afternoon tea was delicious and the service was second to none. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience was a pleasure for my parents who had never had an afternoon tea before. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

What a lovely atmosphere and staff so friendly and welcoming would highly recommend!!

The afternoon tea was delicious, both the food and the actual tea. We used a Groupon voucher and this was my 16 year old daughter's first experience of a proper afternoon tea. ..she was not disappointed. The service was very friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves with lots of sandwiches and treats.
The only issue was that we needed to ask for cutlery. ..it's a little difficult to eat scones, jam and cream without a knife! !! Or to stir sugar into tea without a spoon. Having said that, these were fetched over very quickly once they were asked for.
Thank you. X

Great meal and as I have coeliac disease they went out of their way to keep my food gluten free, which was much appreciated! Will definitely come here again next time we're in Cardiff :-)

Our first time, cocktails were to die for and and good was delicious, deffinatly a place to visit when in Cardiff
Karen Price
We went for Sunday lunch and ordered the beef. It was amazing! The beef itself was perfectly cooked and plentiful and it was accompanied by potatoes, broccoli, carrots, parsnips, aubergine and roasted pepper all of which were delicious. Our server and the chap behind the bar were friendly, but not pushy, and seemed genuinely happy. We'll definitely eat here again!
Craig Phillips
Was looking forward to going but really disappointed, the table was dirty and sticky so moved tables , had beef lunch but was so tuff I couldn’t eat it , staff didn’t seem to care , won’t be back , such a shame for a lovely venue
Jordan Brown
Excellently venue with welcoming staff, had the amazing share board for Sunday lunch and it was amazing!! Along side that I have some great refreshing cocktails!!! This place is one of my favourite eating spots in the city

We went on a grouping Sunday lunch meal,it was abit of a shame as they had been so busy the day before (understandable due to the footy and boxing) so they didn’t have a few things (deserts) but I have to say the lovely team made up for it and the food was fab,so much so I posted to my friends and I do believe they are are booking in for next week. My partner loved it as he doesn’t eat veg so he was in his element with the amount of chicken, beef, roasties and Yorkshires. We will be back, May I make a suggestion...stuffing would be a nice touch 👌 xx
