Perfect! Everything about my stay has been amazing. Esme who checked me in made me feel really welcome. The room was wonderful (Llandaff Cathedral); loads of room, plenty of places to put things, loads of plugs, lovely big bathroom and super comfy bed. The room had been left toasty and warm when I a
We came for my dad’s birthday as he would have loved a pub meal. It was close to home with parking nearby and the menu looked good. The food was excellent as was the service. We had a great time and are now planning to have our next Sunday Roast there too. Thanks for looking after us!
Only popped in with my daughter for a light bite. The service was lovely and the bar staff were really helpful. It's lovely and clean and has a lovely atmosphere. Great for family gatherings or just for a quite everything it was lovely will definitely be back.
We stayed in the Norwegian room for three nights, it is a good size and the bathroom also. Attractively decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's a good selection of food and drink to choose from and the prices are reasonable. We would certainly be happy to stay here again.
Service was very good, Chris was friendly and welcoming. The menu gives you a really wide variety to choose from. The meal was very good from start to finish. It's pub grub but it's good pub grub. Good wine list too. Wine and food is reasonably priced. Well done all round.
The team were very good. Obviously new young member of staff took our food order. We did have to ask if we could order our food. Steak turned up but was sirloin rather than rib eye. This was confirmed by member staff who was very apologetic and offered to change it. I said it was ok and stayed with
Excellent. Lovely welcome, great table service, nothing was too much trouble. Great meal, reasonably priced. Couldn’t ask for better. Will definitely be back.
I visited with my husband & 3 friends, to take part in the weekly quiz. Chris, the Manager, is an absolutely superb host! He makes everyone feel really welcome, is very entertaining & delivers one of the best quizzes I’ve ever taken part in.
Really enjoyable experience. We had quite a last minute booking for Sunday dinner, having not eaten at Maltsters before. We both really enjoyed our food and experience. Hot plates to keep the food warm, really good sized portions, lashing of gravy (I'm originally northern so this went down a treat
The service was excellent. My friend is a vegetarian/vegan and selected the vegetarian curry. She also loves her chips, so asked if she could have half and half rice and chips. First of all she was told unfortunately she couldn't because of portion size but the waitress then came back and said the c
Really lovely little pub with hotel. Stayed for a wedding we attended nearby. The staff were wonderful. Gr at range of drinks and a lovely breakfast.
Our party came to take part in the Harry Potter pub quiz. The quiz master was entertaining and the questions were challenging which was good. I appreciated the fact that you have a gluten free specific menu. The atmosphere was lively and a great night was had by us all 😊 thank you.
My husband, myself and my son visited for our first Sunday Lunch experience. The service was great especially by the chap who is dealing with the Christmas bookings. The sunday lunch was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable, so much so that we have booked our Christmas Day Lunch there. We live in B
Came here for a Tuesday night quiz (Harry Potter special but they have a general quiz every week). The host (unsure of his name) was absolutely amazing. Such a funny, friendly and entertaining host. Felt like a Friday night. Food and drinks were good. Most of the staff were lovely and friendly. High
Lively local pub. Good decor. Staff friendly and efficient. Food average pub grub. Sirloin steak not worth the money, but I should have predicted that tbh. Recommend table booking for busy times. Will be back at some stage but not imminent.
We both ordered the curry’s. We had one starter the salt & pepper calamari. This was excellent. Really enjoyed it. I had the chicken and my wife the vegetarian curry. The chicken curry had very little flavour and the Nan bread was Luke warm and very dry. A little disappointing main course but we wil
Food was delicious cooked to perfection. Service was excellent very friendly, it was quiet when we were there but thats how we like it. Super dog friendly, water and bowls supplied and biscuits. Board games too which is a lovely gesture whike your having a drink with friends.
