A great place to spend most evenings of the week if you are in a group of friends.
Drinks offers day and night, karaoke 4 night's a week from 6pm. Live band's on a Friday and Saturday night.
Great bar staff and karaoke with Lawrence is not to be missed.
Sky sports TV also available.
A great fun place to visit and don't forget the rugby friendlies in August for the build up to the rugby world cup 2023.

Fun place to visit. Went as a couple and had no issues at all with the bouncers as mentioned in previous reviews. Was fun to have a couple of beers and listen to the karaoke! Other customers were friendly

International weekend visit James manager is lovely honest host who goes the extra mile to accommodate everyone. Pay £5 to get in as it’s well worth it. Pubs have had a hard time over past two years and Kiwis trying to make everyone smile. Great bar great atmosphere. I visit this bar every two years for rugby international and it’s consistently good.
All the best James

Kiwis is always such a laugh and so friendly. Especially the staff. What I like about the place is they always have plenty of people serving behind the bar and you never have to wait for a drink even when it’s really busy (unlike all other bars in the town centre). I particularly like the bouncers as they are so friendly. I like to start my night in kiwis when I’m in town as it always gets the night off to a good start. Great music, beer, staff and atmosphere. Thank you Kiwis!

A good night out was ruined by thuggish bouncers in this place. I was with a group of friends having a good time when the bouncers decided they wanted to bully someone, and I was their unfortunate victim.
I was causing no trouble and had done absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever when I was roughly man handled and forced outside and literally thrown to the ground. I now have 2 bruised arms to prove it.
This led to a needless confrontation when my friends came out to stick up for me. But it got even worse! We all left for another bar but later I realised I had left my coat behind in the chaos.
An hour or so later I went back on my own to fetch it and got within a few feet of the front doors when the bouncer charged at me and pushed me in the chest. This sent me absolutely flying and I landed heavily on my hip which is badly bruised and I am now walking with a limp.
To top it off, my other half went in there the next day to collect my coat but it had mysteriously disappeared! Needless to say, I won't be setting foot in this dump again.

Love, love Kiwis! every time I go there I have a great time! Great atmosphere! For the autumn internationals it's the place to head to if you want big screens and decent beer at decent prices.
Ian Kidd
Great beer, friendly bar staff and management Highly recommend for a night out. More personal service than the large chain bars and clubs in Cardiff
Miguel Antonio

Was going to put a zero but dont have that option 1 is the lowest. Wouldn't waste your time ppl all you get is rude door staff rude staff an management is even worse so explains tha staffs attitudes. if you even try questioning the appalling behaviour in a civil an calm manner you get abuse shoved grabbed an thrown out .Management is appalling wouldn't let him magage my recycling enough said . Plenty of great places to enjoy a night out in cardiff ppl unfortunately this place aint one of them what a let down to cardiffs night life you are

Wonderful night last Saturday as I always do when hitting kiwis. Live music, great atmosphere, lovely people and service and great range of drinks especially beers on tap. I love it here. George the DJ always plays my favourite classic tunes too! See you next time!
Barry Mckenzie
What can i say about this place, it ticked all the boxes. Had awesome time on Sunday (17th September),the karaoke night rocked. Their happy hr is cool and beer prices one of the cheapest i have found in Cardiff, just a pitty they don't do steinlager anymore due to issues with supplier. Will be back 100% when next down from London.

Proper old man's pub this one. It's hidden away in Wyndham Arcade and I don't think many people know about it. We went in on a Friday at about 6pm and we were the youngest in there by a good twenty years! It seems like a proper local as everyone seemed to know eachother so we felt a little awkward at first. Straight away though a couple of people started chatting to us and a lady (about 50 or 60 odd) gave me her ID to give to the barmaid as a joke. The barmaid laughed it up and all was well. A minor scuffle broke out within 5 minutes of us getting in aswell. One older fella tried to nick another ones bacon sandwich so they squared up. They quickly ran out of steam and had to have a sit down though so it was alright.
It's quite narrow and dark inside with only a couple of tables and chairs as most people gather round the bar in here. Music was 70s - 80s mainly. I've been here once before on a Saturday night and the general age of the clientele still remains at about 40+ and the music always tends to date from around the same era.
I had a pint of Stella Artois which was a very affordable £2.40. Considering it's one of the pricier lagers, and most bars round town charge at least £2.80 we were chuffed with the prices.
I'd definitely go here again but only for a quiet pint whilst shopping or on a lunchbreak. On a night out it's too geared towards the older generations to really retain my interest but it's still a cosy little pub with a decent enough atmosphere.

I stumbled across Kiwi's whilst dragging my feet on a horrid shopping trip. I was hot, sweaty and in no mood for an upmarket establishment that I had to watch my p's and q's in. Thank bloody god I found this perfect little hole of a pub.
It's literally hidden in Wyndham Arcade in between skating shops and hairdressers. A perfect little rough diamond, with perfect prices (Although do be warned prices change quite dramatically if the capitol is hosting a big event like rugby or a concert.) a perfect array of choices and an even more perfect drink.
The pub has a nice, warm atmosphere but do be warned heads do turn when you walk in, but hey, this is Wales.
From the old records that pour gently through the place to the old guys playing brag and swearing at each other Kiwi's oozes with a good atmosphere.
I know its odd thing to comment on but the toilets are super duper clean and tidy, always a plus for an hour out.
The only downside to this bar is that there is limited seating especially mid week when the regulars are out in force.
But all in all a fab pub.

Kiwi's Bar is another of Cardiff's hidden gems located in the Wyndham Arcade. My friends and I decided to pop in because it was by pure chance we discovered it. Strangely enough the amount of times I've walked down the Wyndham Arcade a never noticed before also may explain why there appeared to be only regulars inside.
As Hannah pointed out heads do turn when you walk in, but is a little unsurprising since the regulars in the pub regard this pub as Cardiff's best kept secret. I wouldn't go as far as to say that but this small pub is great for a quiet beer or two with friends. The prices in here are dirt cheap due to the fact there are so many offers on. The staff are friendly and the records that play in the background are loud enough so you can enjoy them but quiet enough you can still have an easy conversation with your friends.
I must admit I was also astonished by the cleanliness of the toilets which were some of the best I've seen for a pub! The only qualm with Kiwi bar is I found it quiet dimly lit (perhaps due to its location it stifles natural light) so I found it quit hard to read thing without my glasses. Nevertheless I would recommend a trip to Kiwi Bar for a few cheap and relaxing pints.

Kiwi's is a decidedly functional venue with no adornments that are not fully supportive of the rapid consumption of the entry-level lagers, which serve as the base currency of this rough-and-ready watering hole.
A male friend of mine once spent an afternoon drinking here, and (this is a true story) a bald Russian man mistook him for a woman, which resulted in him trying to feel up my friend. Needless to say, he hasn't been back since.
Don't let that put you off - it's just an amusing anecdote, after all. But it does give you some indication of what you may be in for once you step inside Kiwi's.
The booze is cheap and the doorway to the bar is sheltered underneath the Wyndham Arcade (protecting you from any torrential downpours), so it's worth stopping by if it's raining and you're in need of a refreshment.

This is one of those odd places thats a bit of a hidden gem. I went in expecting it to be an over the top themed bar much like Walkabouts and was pleasantly surprised to find just a good bar with a tidy crowd of people having a good time on the weekend.
It has two floors so when the party gets going they open up the top floor for a bit more space to throw some moves. I think they pub grub in the day too but this is my kind of pub really. The music is quite good, there's no dress code so you can just show up and enjoy.

I don't think I'm quite as sure about this place as Anna T. Every time I've been inside the clientele have been middle aged men. Perhaps it would have been different if I had gone in with a large group of friends, but me and one other small female friend didn't feel very welcome when we stepped through the doors.
But, this is the brief impression I got of the place when I visited in the middle of the day. By the sounds of it, it comes a bit more alive when the sun starts to go down. Just like most bars/clubs, it makes sense that the real feel of this place happens later, when the middle-aged men are joined by friends and students and workers and everyone else.
The decor of this pub if fairly traditional, and really reminds me of the local pub I frequented in New Zealand; kind of small town and old-fashioned. I guess that would make sense, given that it's called Kiwis... Duh. Tanya, that was not your smartest moment.
In short, I really feel as though I need to give Kiwis another go. I suspect that the middle-aged men are all lovely once you get talking to them.

This is a great night out if you just want to dance and have few drinks. It is not full of youngesters and the music isn't like some of the other venues in Cardiff.
It is on two floors upstairs where they seems to have the more modern music and the dance floor is always full. Downstairs in more like a pub but it still has good music and everyone seems to dance where they stand.
Not the venue for a quite night and if you don't like crowds.
Always had a good night here!!

Just love the kiwi bar here as its a fun filled night out.You can go here and spend the night never having to go out the door. The both floors are a fun filled evening so why not try them both while you r there. The ground floor looks and fell like the more traditional pub and not as many of the younger crowd tend to go there.Up stairs its more for the younger ones amongst you as it reflects the sounds of today rather than yesterday.Good friendly staff with a quick service and not to pricey either.Always enjoy a night out here so have a look if you r ever in Cardiff.

Great atmosphere as the night goes on. Music to suit all tastes. One let down though is a isolated incident I hope, was certain bar staff are liable to try it on when you pay for drinks with a £20 and try to give you change of a £10, keep your eyes on the till as they slip the notes under the cash drawer.
