My first visit was between Christmas and New Year.
Booking a table was straightforward, staff were helpful especially Phil. The food was superb and a real treat. The menu is superb and available as takeaway. For 3 courses and drinks we averaged £30 per head. There was no rush to eat and leave, and we were able to have good time between ordering courses. Facilities were available on site with an accessible washroom, which was well decorated and clean. It's a two storey restaurant, we were down stairs which was perfect for me.
I would absolutely book again for the chicken macaroni cheese, or as a takeaway treat. The calamari was superb and cooked to perfection.
Very tasty food! The lasagna was delicious. The minestrone was very flavorful. The courgette, safron and lemon risotto was perfectly prepared.

Absolutely amazing went there for a friends birthday. Great atmosphere and the waitress Helena was so welcoming. Even gave us free shots afterward. Food was amazing will definitely be back again soon.

The food was delicious and the owner very nice. It is a great place to have a hearty meal after a long hiking day.
Popped in for lunch. Was not disappointed. Many traditional Italian dishes on offer. All freshly made. I have Chicken Picante, marinade chicken in a rich, spicy tomato sauce served with freshly made garlic bread. Absolutely delicious. I then had Norcina pasta, sausage, mushrooms, goats cheese in a creamy sauce. Superb. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend it. There is another Italian next door, Franco's. It was closed. It makes look the more authentic of the two but trust me, Alex's Pasta is the real deal. Waiter/owner very nice. Polite, quick and friendly. Top marks!!

One of the hidden secrets of Carlisle. I have been visiting this restaurant and never been disappointed with the food quality, the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staffs, and the cleanness of the place. We definitely needed places like this in Cumbria. Highly recommended.
Husband & I visited the restaurant for the first time last week (but have been to the original pasta bar a few times before).
We both had lasagne, we liked that you got a choice of side dishes included. Food was (as always) absolutely delicious & plentiful we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
Restaurant decor is nice & welcoming- love the chairs! Great to see it so busy.

Super tasty, great and friendly service, would definitely come back.
We came in tonight for a after work meal and honestly all I can say is WOW what beautiful food they have here. From start to finish the staff experience was unbeatable made you feel so very welcome and explained the specials to us. The food was out of this world myself had a chorizo pizza stunning and my boss had chicken pasta carbonara and it was beautiful in her own words. We will definitely be back and most certainly recommended.
