Must visit place if you are at Castleton. The food was really good and the drinks were also good. It's dogs are allowed too. Spacious it was. Beer was fresh. After a hiking must visit for a break to have some brunch lunch or breakfast 😀
Beautiful place definitely recommend if you're in the area. We had meals after a 4 hour hike, and it just topped the day off. Will definitely be back soon. The burger was absolutely delicious, and beer was fresh and crisp.
You order your food from the counter with the table number.
We chose from the fixed menu (available Mon-Thurs 12:00-17:00 which was £15.50 for two courses. Two of us had the lasagna and the other gammon ham and eggs. For deserts we had the brownie with vanilla ice cream and coffee/hot chocolate.

Stayed here just for one night. The room was massive with a gigantic comfy bed. Lovely bathroom with a walk in shower. Full english with selection of teas/ coffees. Cosy pub, overall 5 stars from me. Will visit and stay again.
Another lovely pub in Castleton. The staff are friendly and helpful. A nice selection of beer n ale. If the weathers nice I would recommend sitting in the beer garden at the back of the pub. We met up with friends here last week for lunch, and took advantage of the Castle's generous promotional discount. The bar area was quite busy, so they opened up the restaurant for us - which we had to ourselves! In spite of being "out of sight" the service was excellent and we all enjoyed the tasty

Classic pub with its own car park for patrons (not just for residents like the George next door). Good selection of beers and good food. Service was ok, but it was quiet at early lunch time.

Loads of wood fires dotted around which give a warning (obviously) and cosy feel. Good rooms, good food and great staff too
The food was excellent. The service was ok but there were two ladies that were quite rude and abrupt. A smile doesnt really cost much either. The drinks were very overpriced and the rooms are a little dated and were lacking that extra bit of TLC. For £160 a night I expected better.
