Had covid boosters in the village and as it was lunchtime, we explored and discovered this gem. Atmosphere was warm and friendly, front of house Rachel was welcoming and helpful, and both food and service was outstandingly good. AND, smaller portions were available if you wanted them, plus, the bill was very modest.

What a great country pub, with a cozy ambiance and very welcoming.
We had a meal the food arrived at the same time and we could not fault it, hot and tasty on all accounts.
Staff and locals made us feel relaxed and very welcome.
Will definitely be going back epically to hide from the winter blues.

Our dog friendly, child friendly local village pub. A warm and welcoming welcome awaits with delicious food.
Outside seating with views over the beck is ideal for a stop off on a dog walk, but if the weather isn't great, they are always welcome inside, perfect!

The Bay horse is a hidden gem, in the heart of Catterick Village. Jules and her team, are always so welcoming. Amazing food and fantastic atmosphere. We always bring our friends, when they come to visit and they always comment on how much of a nice pub it is. Would highly recommend x

We stumbled here while driving as a group from London to Edinburgh with 5 adults and a dog. great place serving fresh made food quickly well into the afternoon. A really cheery, helpful and accommodating welcome to a great VERY dog friendly pub just a few minutes off the A1. There's some outdoor seating when the sun shines overlooking a very pretty village green, complete with a stream and some ducks, to stretch human and dogs' legs. The slightly smaller light lunch menu was a godsend for those with sensible appetites while the greedies among us left very satisfied.
We enjoyed our visit so much we came back on the way home a few days later!

Always a warm welcome. Tried the new menu and the chilli chicken kebab was very tasty and filling. The sated caramel brownie was lush. All nicely presented 😋😋😋

Lovely little pub in Catterick village, was my local to camp and always enjoyed a walk to the pub with the dogs for a couple of pints. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Also enjoyed the karaoke!

We came in for a spot of lunch at this lovely gem of a pub, which is our local. We drink here regularly and have dined a few times. Today we tried the new items on the menu and WOW...they did not dosappoint!
I had the doner kebab and chips, with garlic mayo and an extra side of maple sauce, which complemented it beautifully; and my husband had the frankfurter hotdog (trimmings included) and chips with extra chips! Will definately be back again.
Note: The Bay Horse in the picturesque village of Catterick with a lovely beck running through it it's a lovely place to walk the dog and then pop in for some freshly cooked, delishious food and relaxed atmosphere.

Cannot believe this wonderful pub. Family of 10 on holiday in the village and they do not blink. Table for 10 on quiz night, no problem and amazing food. Everyone was so happy including the Coeliac. Please make sure if you visit, or live in the area, you visit and order the awesome food.

We had the best day for our wedding on the 5th November 2016. The staff was amazing they couldn't have done a better job. The food was amazing (i could live of that vegetable soup) the portions were huge and delicious. Everything was perfect. The entertainment was brill and the locals are lovely. Once we have done the big move to Leeming next week we will definitely be coming back. Thank you all so much xx
