I attended an evening private function at the Angel Bar on Tuesday 19th September. It was the perfect, cosy venue for an uplifting talk by a hypnotherapist. Staff were friendly. Complimentary non-alcoholic cocktails were well received. Overall, a very enjoyable evening. I will continue to support this local independent bar.

We recently hired the Angel Bar for a private function for my Mums 80th birthday. There were around 40 people in attendance and the bar could have easily accommodated 20/30 more if needed. The food provided was fabulous - we were able to choose what we would like and Meena and the team made sure that everything was perfect. The bar was decorated beautifully, the staff were super friendly and attentive and everyone commented on how much they liked the bar and how much of a good time they had. Would definitely recommend the Angel Bar for a private function, cocktails with friends or just a quick coffee as it has a wonderful atmosphere. It's just what Caversham needs!!!

A lovely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with fresh well prepared food. The Sloe Gin is so refreshing. The staff are friendly and very approachable. A very pleasant place to catch up with friends and family in Caversham, you will not be disappointed. I had the Ploughmans and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Caversham has been crying out for a place as good as this. Great interior friendly staff and super cocktails. 4/7 happy hour what more can you ask for. Really not to be missed and soon this will become one of those places that everyone raves about

Lovely local cocktail bar. Went on a Weds eve and it was empty apart from us! (And another group who arrived later on). But it should be buzzing -- it's a good size, with very cool decor and an excellent cocktail list from £7-£10. I can recommend the margarita 👌 The staff were attentive and friendly. There's a selection of tapas/snacks too. Will definitely visit again.

I am a regular at the Tipsy Bean and cannot speak highly enough about it. Great atmosphere, independent so unique. Relaxed, friendly staff and delicious food. They are dog friendly, with free dog treats. Perfect for coffee, meeting girlfriends and has a great bar with lots of cocktails !

We had a party at the Tipsy Bean last night for my sisters 30th and it was awesome. The venue was the perfect, the staff were so friendly and helpful, they even helped to blow up a tonne of balloons. The food was really yummy! Antipasti types food which everyone raved about. Thank you for a great evening, would definitely recommend and we look forward to coming back soon!

Lovely cafe/wine bar. Great service, delicous food and a good selection of nice wines. Quiet during the day at weekends so nice to spend some time there reading a book or the paper with a coffee or glass of wine. Nice atmosphere in the evening, busy and social but not overcrowded. If I lived nearer I'd be in here all the time!

Nice clean interior but a bit sterile. Quite expensive - £7 upwards for 250ml wine. Staff very pleasant. Nice soft rock music but some of it sounded like covers.
Arrived yesterday (Sunday 22nd Oct) at 4:30pm and was then told after one glass that they closed at 5pm and they 'couldn't serve us any more drinks'. Since it apparently used to close at 11pm every day until a couple of weeks ago I can't imagine their license had changed so they probably could have, but chose not to, which isn't quite the same thing.
I had checked on the internet which below the actual link to cafe stated 'open today 12pm until 11pm'.
Just checked their own website which states at the top 'cafe until 12pm then cafe and wine bar until 11pm. Only right at the bottom after scrolling past all the menus etc does it provide 'Sunday opening times closing at 5pm'.
Wasn't able to try the food, obviously.
Not all that impressed first visit but might try it again as they have music occasionally.

Really lovely decor inside it's just the window display that's stopped me going in before! I'm not sure what a tomato plant, a toy car and dried flowers says about a classy wine bar! Also the chalk boards are poorly written. Having said that the staff were lovely and the selection of food and drinks were great x

Weekday coffee and cake very good value. I like to sit in the window and watch the world go by. Serves coffee, cake, lunch lunches. It is also a licensed premises so there are a few Gin n Tonics to try and some lovely Prosecco which can prove hard to resist, especially on 2 for 1 Tuesdays!
