Review The Farrier - Cayton

It is a absolutely amazing place!! Our room was beautiful, very comfortable and luxurious. We had afternoon tea when we arrived, which was huge and delicious. Breakfast the next morning was also plentiful and of a very high standard. Everything here makes your stay really enjoyable, staff are very friendly and outstanding. Attention detail is what makes your stay somewhere even more enjoyable, the Farrier has it in bucket loads and other places should take a leaf out of Danni's book!!

This was our first visit to The Farrier for an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast. The room we stayed in along with the whole of the hotel is beautifully decorated and appointed. Scrupulously clean, all of the staff were very friendly, polite and professional. The food served for dinner and breakfast was absolutely fabulous, the freshest of ingredients and all served hot. Immensely looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended !

We had an evening meal here as a treat on a few days away. The venue itself is very nice and homely. Decorated to a high standard. Service was very good without being overbearing. They sorted my wife out with a non alcoholic wine and when she forgot what it was, she gave a brief description to see server and they were able to identify it straight away. The food was amazing, all courses were very good tasty and filling. The starter of mussels could easily be shared. I could barely finish my dessert, but look at it! How could I not. A great bit of theater to end the meal. Highly recommended, we've already got our eye on a room for a return visit.

We arrived a bit late - due to power cut - long story. We could not have had a warmer welcome. Food was brilliant. Barnsley chop fantastic followed by dessert theatre administered by Lorraine on the strawberry cheesecake which was a whole another level. Lorraine was awesome regaling us with Rugby League stories and was worth the admission fee on her own. Best restaurant I have been to this year and will recommend to anyone and everyone. ( There is no admission fee but Lorraine and Bentley kept 4 unruly blokes in check for the benefit of other diners. ) do not hesitate just book!!

Bit of a sad visit really as it was for light refreshments after a funeral service. Everyone was looked after really well with tea and coffee supplied. A waitress was always popping to make sure everyone was okay. The sandwiches and cakes were lovely with very little left. It was a lovely venue to say goodbye to a lovely lady x

Wow!! An amazing evening. We were searching for something special and definitely found it. The minute we walked in through the door we were greeted and looked after to a very high standard. Lovely seating area, very comfortable and all the staff were very attentive. We had so much choice of mouthwatering meals and our choices didn’t disappoint. And then came the dessert!! 😳😁 another wow!! Thank you all for an unforgettable evening, we will be returning on our next visit to the area. Barbara and Derek

Food and service excellent. Some chairs are quite low for the tables and need cushions to raise you up higher so not ideal. Car park small as always busy and not easy parking nearby. Expensive but still worth it for a special occasion.

We stayed at The Farrier on Sunday 13th August along with an evening meal. We’re really well travelled in four and five star hotels worldwide and can honestly say this is one of the very best we’ve seen. Exceptionally well thought out rooms and decor, absolutely no expense spared on the detail and decor, friendly obliging staff throughout, brilliant food and drinks service, and the owner Dani made time to personally serve and chat to everyone. Five of your finest stars with not one fault anywhere.

Lovely spot for lunch if you are feeling fancy. You will 100% need to book though. The small plates are indeed small but you should expect that! The Oreo Mud Pie I had was delicious and I really felt like I was in a Masterchef episode

We came across this lovely place whilst Camping at nearby 'Roedeer Meadows'. It was a lovely evening and so we sat outside. The whole area and setting was lovely. Our favourite feature was the small gas firepit outside. We didn't eat here but the food did look incredible from what we saw. The wine was beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive. I honestly can't fault The Farrier. It's a stunning little pub/restaurant, and the 1 star reviews are quite frankly laughable.

It's a great restaurant with good service and lots of vegan and gluten-free options in addition to the usual menu and the bonus is it's dog friendly.

What a great find. We called in for lunch. We had fish fingers (homemade, very light batter) sandwich, it came with tartar sauce, a dressed salad and coleslaw. My fiancé had a Blt, which also came with a dressed salad and coleslaw. Also a bowl of their homemade chips which were very addictive ;) All the food was delicious and hot. The staff were extremely attentive. The outside seating area is beautiful on a sunny day.

Constantly cleaning around our outdoor seating area, AMAZING, such a proud team, can not wait to go back. This place is on another level and so friendly team. Just 1 point to emphasise, we ordered cocktails and they have to be the best we have ever tasted.. AMAZING, staff = 10 Star. Service = 10 Star. What more can you ask.Keep it up..

Popped in for a quick bite to eat after a morning on the beach, we were a large group without a booking. Staff were really helpful and attentive. We only had a selection of sandwiches from the lunch menu, but everyone certainly enjoyed them. Court yard to the rear is great when the sun is shining!
