The Birdcage - Chagford - Photo album

Lovely food but surprisingly expensive. £25.50 for two salads and half a quiche each (we shared a single portion) - no drinks. The salads were supposedly large but I'd say that's a subjective description up for debate. I'd recommend though if you've got the cash to spare.
A lovely family lunch. With a range of nice food to suit all our tastes, and really nice staff it was a pleasure and would definitely go again. Fantastic sausages!
A Monday morning delight in July for a Full English, tea and cake... lovely spot, absolutely delicious breakfast. The quality of the ingredients is evident... Yummy!
What a totally outstanding place, for sure probably the best scones I have ever tasted. Great service, excellent food, and most surprisingly the price was very competitive. The place is very popular so don't be suprised to wait to be seated. Highly recommended. Dog friendly as well ☺. Incase anyone
A gem. We had delicious sausages on fresh ciabatta and bought cakes to go. Lots of really high quality, locally sourced ingredients.
It’s very much worth taking a little diversion to visit The Birdcage in Chagford. A short drive off the A30 I have now been there a few times and it never disappoints. Great tea and coffee plus large selection of homemade cakes 🍰 and lunches. Try the carrot cake with a cappuccino - delicious.
A really special little cafe. The breakfasts we had were perfectly portioned and cooked. The hot chocolates were some of the nicest I've ever had. And I've had several. The owners also run the pizza can on Thursday nights, which was equally delicious. Clearly very popular with locals, understandably
A lovely little cafe in a beautiful village. Quirky and cosy with excellent food. We went in on a Thursday and the staff were amazing; helpful, friendly and funny - they made us feel completely welcome and at home. Can’t recommend it highly enough
Brilliant. Full English Breakfast with toasted soda-bread and meaty farm-style sausage. The beans were a little hot, but better that than too cold. Service was unhurried, but pleasant and friendly. Coffee was robust and tasty. Chagford has many attractions, and The Birdcage is up with the best of t
We popped in for a light lunch and what a find. I have a small vegetarian quiche just the right size and the salad wow so tasty not like your normal green lettuce and tomatoes on the side. Would definitely recommend it. Value for money.
