Why drive all the way to Chelmondiston? Because, if you want one of the best Sunday lunches I have had this year, then the answer is YES, do it. There is a good size car park, the whole establishment is immaculately clean, as it shoud be. The restaurant area is divided into different sections and can seat around 60 people. The Sunday Lunch menu is a sensible size featuring at least two roasts with all the trimmings and enough options to suit most tastes. We decided to have two courses, I chose a starter, fried calamari in Aioli sauce and roast beef and my pal chose rump of lamb and a sticky toffee pudding for desert. You know you being well treated when a carafe of iced tap water and two glasses are brought to your table before you order your food and drink. Service was excellent and frendly. As you will see from the photographs, the portions are very generous and everything was delicious. Price including drinks came in at under £30 pp and was worth every penny. Thank you Red Lion, we will certainly return.
We went for Sunday lunch and it was a bit quiet but we needn't have worried. Delicious food, friendly staff and great service. Overall a lovely late lunch on a cold Sunday afternoon!
Our local. Understated. Fantastic food. Reasonably priced. A proper pub with friendly staff . Highly recommend.
An excellent pub/restaurant with friendly staff. To have great food and drinks in a very comfortable setting. At reasonable prices.
Fabulous looking pub, very smart and a warm welcome from staff and locals. We really enjoyed our visit
We went for christmas lunch. Food was excellent & service very friendly! Have been several times before. Everytime food is exquisite & you know you are always getting the best quality food ever.
Great menu that catered for all tastes. Good service. We will come back
The food is great and the staff were lovely.
Looks to have been recently refurbished in a hard style. Strong lines, no soft furnishings and a "Farrow and Ball" colour scheme. Two beer taps.
Stumbled upon this place as the Butt and Oyster was fully booked. Expected a typical run down country pub but couldn't have been further from this. Lovely clean, friendly and modern pub. Great lunch selection and quality ingredients used. Will definitely pop by again!
