incredible full afternoon tea (£20 pp) with tiny sandwiches and sweets, free parking, spacious, love this place
I had the vegetarian quiche and without sounding over the top it was one of the best quiches I’ve eaten. I would say the portion was too small for an adult (or maybe I’m just greedy 😋). The food and drink menu isn’t cheap, but the food is nice. I would return again. I only gave 4 stars as on the day
Had a great lunch here. The food came up quickly and was delicious. The chicken burger was excellent and the chips were amazing. A lovely location with free parking.
Lovely place, plenty of space so you not cramped up with other customers. We had the vegetarian quiche which was really nice. Dogs are allowed in the outside areas but we’ve never asked if allowed the inside.
Lovely place to have a leasurely lunch, staff were very friendly and helpful. Moved tables to accomodate our party of 7 so we could all sit together. When asked about the house rose wine was given a small glass to try before we buy. Excellent and accomodating, would definately recommend.
This was a funeral celebration of life, so I can't say how things are normally. I would say that generally, everything was very good. The staff were very helpful, especially the young man serving tea and coffee. If I was in the area again, I would certainly pop in. Would recommend.
We had a 100th Birthday Party here in November and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. They were all amazing and made everyone feel welcome, including the Birthday Boy. The food was great and the room was the perfect size for our group of 30+ people. It’s easily accessible for wheelchairs and wa
What a lovely place, service was friendly, loads of outdoor seating. Breakfast was beautiful and really reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back, thoroughly recommend.
The best full English I have had in years. Really nice sitting in the secret garden underneath a tree. Would recommend to everyone in Chelmsford. Delicious. Also really nice staff.
Really lovely setting, especially in the hot weather. Afternoon tea was a reasonable £18 each, including some drinks (non alcoholic), we did have to preorder and give a £10 deposit. We weren’t rushed at all. The food was a lovely and too much for us to manage. 10/10
Went here for afternoon tea which was really yummy. Staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. Was very nice atmosphere, we sat outside since the weather was very warm.
Lovely lunch. Food great and excellent value for money. Service great and lovely sitting outside. Definitely worth a visit.
This is an excellent place to eat and relax. It has a lovely garden restaurant area which has shaded tables, if the sun is hot. You need to book to be sure of a table.
Lovely decor, simple with countryside vibes 5 minutes away from Chelmsford City centre. Lovely afternoon tea with great gluten free options. My favourite gluten free bread so far was eaten there!
A real gem in the heart of Chelmsford. Afternoon tea was excellent. Staff couldn't do enough to make sure we had a lovely time at a 90th birthday party.
Had a lovely surprise afternoon tea for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing everything was made freshly and the scones and clotted cream were so nice also the home made sausage rolls. Can really recommend this lovely gem.
Love this "secret" garden. Very boho feel. Lovely outside seating area if preferred. Great food. Friendly staff
