We called in at The Plough out of my wanting to catch up with someone, known from a previous establishment, who now works there. The intention had been to move on after a couple of beers. Took my daughter and my wife here today and was absolutely blown away by the friendly service and wonderful food the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were perfect I highly recommend this for anyone stopping by It's absolutely delicious!!
Good selection of ales and beers and reasonably priced based on its location. Staff always friendly and the food is pretty good on the times I have eaten there. However, there have been no mirrors in the Gents for months but is quite amusing how they have the frames still hanging up. đ Recommend the

I was here on Saturday during the FA cup final and the staff were brilliant even though it was busy (particularly the supervisor Sam), great service and atmosphere and the food was some of the best pub food in Chelmsford. 10/10 recommend!
Another lovely pub located just behind the train station...clean and friendly sports shown on multiple screens...a wide range of drinks there is something for all here...I would highly recommend if you're visiting the beautiful city of Chelmsford.
First time visiting yesterday, came to watch the football, needed up staying and have food afterwards aswell, recommend the pizzas, they were really nice

Great ambiance, indoor seating and large outdoor space - really nice given the weather. Standard pub fare on offer, one or two vegetarian options as well.
Nice pub by the train station. Good selection of beers on tap. Plenty of seating and room to stand if the pub gets busy. Staff friendly and helpful.

Great British pub serving good classic beers and pub food. Nice outside garden and a big tv to watch the matches. Less than 30 seconds from chelmsford train station
