I left London almost 10 years ago. Chips were our go-to food when I played in the streets with my friends. Chips are still my favourite thing to eat. I was delighted to find a chip shop like the ones I left behind. Staff attitude, food aroma, and the comfort from eating them are all superb.
Thereβs no other choice for me, highly recommend.
British cuisine. Ordered for the first time Large Cod and chips with Fish cake and Scampi whole tail and chips. Overall, the food was enjoyable as a whole. Positive side first the Large Cod and chips was amazing and had a good portion but the negativity was in the portions of services of Scampi didn't match the expectations, they looked like nuggets. Scampi whole tail was order but couldn't find the tailπ€π. Fish cake had a raw taste which I don't know why (maybe that's the actual taste, I am not sure). But I am happy that I tried itπ.
Who doesn't like a good fish and chips! Nice clean premises and the staff are efficient. They also do a good white chocolate moccha, and cappuccino! Nicely situated near the Asda superstore. The only negative is the entrance, it is a touch narrow. Worth a visit.
Single handedly the best fish and chip shop around! Having been to eat in as well as grabbing a takeaway on multiple occasions over the years, the food and service has always been consistently great.
Not to mention it's a family run business, so it's nice to be able to support it.

Fantastic food and delivery service, i got my familys tea delivered and it arrived so hot i almost burnt my mouth, thank you to all the staff at Martellas please keep up the good work, i will be seeing you all soon and will be recommending your chippy to all.

Went to eat here again today there food is on point fantastic grub, great happy staff and an owner who takes the time to speak to you, thank you all at the best chippy in chelmsford.

The food never let's me or my family down we had another brilliant tea today it was on point as normal, in fact i know in a competition their food would win prizes every time, if you don't feel like cooking and want fantastic food then go to this chippy, take it from me you will love itππππππ.

Just had to have tea here again today, my wife and daughter love the food as much as i do we are never let down fantastic food and great girls working in the shop, thank you all from me and my girls.

Dinner should have been Mc Donald's today but the traffic going into Maldon was so bad we turned around and went to your chippy instead, and i am glad we did, you never let us down with your food it was fantastic as normal, your girls still give that welcome smile. Thank you all, see you soon.

Yet again a fantastic tea, perfect food and great staff i just hope this chippy can survive all these price hikes, i would be really angry if because of the greedy gas and electric surpliers Martellas has to close, hang on in there my friends things should get better.

Had tea here again, and yet again my family and I were not disappointed still great food and service, the prices have gone up a bit but it's only to be expected due to the energy price hike, and it's worth it due to the quality of the food, we will definitely be returning.

Yet another great tea from this chippy, the food is 'as normal' fantastic thank you guy's.
No exaggeration, they serve the best fish & chips ever!
Tasty, not dry or greasy. Eat in huge portions served!
Used to live in Chelmsford, when back visiting always visit, service & food 12 out of 10 always π
The owner here has a really good business and the quality of the food is really good also
