Lovely setting, plenty of space, including car parking, even when busy and sufficient staff to provide quick and friendly service. Food was good, chips excellent.
A few more menu options derived from Gloucester Old Spot pork maybe?
Recommended, will go again.

Fantastic place to stay for a nights stopover in the van. Staff were amazing. Beautiful pub and scenery and the food was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

Overnight stop in campervan. Welcoming staff. Great outdoor seating and lovely beers/cider.
Didn't have anything to eat but nice menu and food looked great.
Lovely clean toilets.

I absolutely love the staff and atmosphere here and my meat eating external family all LOVE the menu so we keep coming back when they visit.
I personally hope they expand their vegetarian menu a bit I don't want a nutroast or souffle everywhere I go.
Also, why isn't there a children's menu at all anymore? We would definitely frequent more often if you offered a simple pasta or some chips or veggies and nuggets as an easy option for families. It does feel a tad intentional.
My children (3 and 1) loved their lunch but it would have been nice to eat mine hot..rather than have to cut up a roast for two young toddlers 😅

We had a delicious Sunday Roast just a 10-minute drive from the town centre. We would love to go back and try it again. We recommend booking in advance through their online booking system.

Delicious meal at the Old Spot. I had the vegetarian tart as a starter and the Thai green curry as a main, this was vegetarian and gluten-free and absolutely lovely.
We also add the lemon tart in desert which I found a bit too sweet to my taste.
Great place to stop by for a drink and a meal.

Incredible food and such nice staff!! The food is so very different to anywhere else, the flavours are interestingly mixed, it's not your standard restaurant/pub food. Some of the flavours were surprising but really good, it's definitely a restaurant for a special occasion. Great presentation. The staff are all so very caring, happy to have a chat, make recommendations, very polite and friendly. Good selection on drinks, including quite a good selection of 0% alcohol drinks. Everything is local as well. Prices are good for such a special experience. I can't believe such a restaurant exists locally, you could imagine the chefs working in London in a really posh places, it is that special here. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

This was fairly close off the M5 so convenient but I would have travelled much further out of my way for the experience. Staff friendly and helpful from the moment i walked in. Lots of car parking for campers motorhomes and cars. To say dog friendly is understated my woofer was in her element. Oh and the food was spot on too !

Just had the most delicious Sunday lunch here. Lamb cooked to perfection with a lovely generous portion of Veg, lamb, Yorkshire and gravy. Beef also extremely good, according to my very fussy partner. The GF Chocolate brownie with Raspberry sorbet, and chocolate sauce was an indulgent delight, and the whole thing was topped off by the Genuinely great service by the most charming hostess. Really super. Thank you so much. I'm local so will be back for more. :)

Friendly staff and a roaring fire to make you feel cosy. Ample parking which is always a bonus. Pleased to say it’s a child friendly establishment, a high chair was offered without even having to ask and there is a children’s menu. The only downside was I felt one of the staff members wasn’t listening and ignored two easy requests. The food was great quality, locally sourced (reinforced by a poster at the front door telling you where they acquire each food and drink item). My husband and I both had hot rolls, one steak and one pork. The bread was lovely, the meat was good and the chip’s were delicious .. but it was crying out for some gravy.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch here this weekend, this was the best yet. There was a good menu choice of roasts, fish and vegetarian option. The meals were presented well and accompanied by a medley of fresh vegetables. I think the desserts whilst there is a good choice, are a little expensive. The waiting staff were more attentive than the first time we visited. My only observation is that there does not seem to be a 'system' of who is looking after which tables, and following the process through. This has resulted on a previous occasion of poor service, but we decided to give The Gloucester Old Spot another go, and we are glad we did.

Great food, even managed to cater for the fussy vegetarian that I am and offered me alternative meals to what was on the menu. I had a beautiful fig beetroot and slaw salad followed by a gorgeous desert. Lovely cosy place to spend a Sunday afternoon :) definitely book in advance as it gets busy!

Dissapointed that every time we come here there is no last orders called and the bar staff leave before us very early (10:30)

This afternoon we celebrated our "Family Christmas Lunch" at the Gloucester Old Spot, this is an event we look forward to all year and most of us had travelled for two hours to get there. The dining room was pleasant and festive, it's a shame the same couldn't be said for the staff, some of whom were rude and inattentive. The roast beef, roast lamb and turkey were well cooked and plentiful but the vegetables were cold and the roast potatoes too hard to cut. Whilst the desserts were good and well presented, the cheese board was disappointing to say the least, 4 small slithers of cheese, a small pot of chutney, a few small slithers of limp celery and 4 crackers, all for the princely sum of £8.95 !!! There was no butter on the board served to my Husband, he requested some which never arrived so asked another member of staff who told him "it should be on there" and grudgingly went off to get some, by which time most of the party had eaten their desserts. Similarly 29 minutes after requesting a cup of coffee, my Mother in Law had to repeat her request to another member of staff !!
I never normally bother to leave a review, but my family and I spent £300 between us and the final insult was a telephone call on the way home to say one of our party had left without paying his £18 bar tab. Luckily my Husband had seen him pay in cash and was able to explain who had served him and tell them that the young lady had put the cash and the tab on the dresser behind her.......the response to being told this was "we thought that was a tip" !!!
Thank you Gloucester Old Spot for ruining our Family Christmas lunch
