Fantastic friendly staff, excellent service, good range of ales and an unbelievable menu choice. Even since Covid, the "limited" menu is extraordinary.
Measures taken for C19 are best I've seen in this area.
I do hope they survive in these tough times but believe there is politics affecting the business. If anyone knows the owner tell them this: It's taken years to get such a great team together. Don't throw it all away.
I rate this place highly. Food excellent, freshly cooked and not overpriced and the service can't be beaten. Everyone is friendly and you are made to feel very welcome. Well worth a visit.
Went out for dinner saturday night, everywhere else was booked up solid.
What a fantastic meal; Dinner for four with drinks £60. Two Steaks, fish and a meat pudding. Guinness lager and two shorts.
You need to book but the food is good, we waited a while but its got to be cooked and plentifull, i had a problem eating it all.
I've been here many times over the years, for meals with my Mother and my partner. I've also had a birthday party here for my 24th in 2004. It was great...we only had 1 meal order come out wrong out of about 25-30 ppl that went...so all in all not bad going.
Nice friendly club and reasonably priced. Annual membership but they also take a day membership if just visiting. Nice bar and the food looked really nice - we didn't eat though! Looked like 14 standard tables - didn't see if they had a match table, but either way couldn't fault ours anyway. Enjoy.
For treat for me and my partner we will go to the Snooker Club for Sunday lunch and we have never had a bad meal. My partner always has the fish which he says is excellent and I have the mixed meats which is also excellent. I love the different vegetables each time we go. The service is also great and the staff always makes us welcomed.
Thank you
Excellent food, served by efficient and friendly staff in a comfortable atmosphere. Gluten free selection is amazing, which is important for us so we know we can be confident just popping in whenever we'r in the area.
A great place to eat, drink or play snooker. I've been for a dinner with mates, a meal with my partner and unfortunately two good friends funerals. Nothing is too much for the staff who are always welcoming, chatty and helpful. I can't wait for my next visit. I just hope it's not a funeral.
I lived in chesterfield, and if I wanted a good meal or somewhere to take friends, I would go here. The food is amazing and the staff are lovely. Because of its popularity, my advice would be to book.
I have been visiting the North East Derbyshire Snooker Centre restaurant for approx 20 years, with my parents, with good friends and with my far flung family. In all that time, I can say, hand on heart that I have never had a bad meal, in fact the food and company has always been excellent.
Lee, Carl and the wonderful team here are warm and friendly and do everything possible to ensure that your visit is a good one. I am devastated to learn that such a brilliant local institution is closing down, the restaurant is a great place to eat and is extremely popular with both the local people and with people from much further afield. I visited again today with two friends to celebrate my upcoming birthday, only to learn that the restaurant will be closing in around 10 days. This wonderful place has been the site of many celebrations within my family, the majority of them happy occasions with great memories, and one very sad occasion where the restaurant catered for my late fathers wake. In every instance the lovely team here have looked after us exceptionally well and in the case of my fathers wake, with the greatest sympathy. When you frequent such a wonderful place, month after month, year after year, the people there become part of your family and you become part of theirs. We celebrated my Mums 80th Birthday at the Snooker Centre and had a brilliant time, nothing was too much trouble, we had a private room, fabulous food and use of the Snooker club facilities. Mum always loved coming here, particularly when family were visiting.
Unfortunately, we have just lost mum to cancer at the end of August, it was unexpected and a great shock to us all, so getting out and about and socialising again, has been challenging. When I heard of the closure today, I felt that I had to write to say how very sorry I am that such a brilliant place will no longer be there to be enjoyed by other families, such as mine. An excellent institution, such as this is a direct reflection of the lovely people who work there and give their all to ensure that their customers have a friendly, positive experience and leave with a smile on their faces.
Whatever direction is now taken by the owners, I hope you soon come to realise what a treasure has been taken from the community and how you have lost one of the most professional, faithful and friendly teams of people in the hospitality business.
I want to personally thank, Lee, Carl and all the team at the Snooker Centre for their service, kindness and friendship for the last 20 years. You will be missed by many.
