I was both surprised & extremely impressed with the Black Horse's varied dining set up, from the 4 seater cabins outside, to the individually stylised sheds & igloo pod for more private group dinners. Stylishly decorated throughout it makes for a lovely dining experience. The food was great. The menu was really well thought through including all the usual favourites as well as beautifully presented dishes covering vegans to carnivores. A very dog friendly pub in an open country setting - stunning on a hot evening & one I really recommend you to try. I will return soon with a group of friends :)

I normally only eat breakfast here which is divine. This weekend however popped in for lunch. The service was amazing, helpful polite and friendly. The burger was OUTSTANDING. Juicy and cooked well… good amount of Brie too. The truffle chips were great too! Thank you Black horse ❤️

Lovely pub. Will definitely be back. We had the roast pork and roast chicken. Generous portions, yummy food. Potatoes could be a little softer but everything else was delish. Staff were also lovely and attentive despite being super busy. Also lovely setting. We sat in the heated huts which was perfect and private- great for a date night. It was our anniversary and they also left us a lovely little surprise for dessert

Fantastic quaint little local pub in the countryside! Great atmosphere with amazing staff. Great spot with an incredible menu! A must for anyone traveling through the area! I highly recommend the Guinness Beef Casserole pictured in my review.

Quite a long wait on food and especially drink, with waiting staff often walking straight past our table with our orders. Understandable given high demand and busy lunch hour. Food was good, and there was a magician making his rounds between the tables, which was a unique experience. In a beautiful area, with lots of nice walking routes around. Good alcohol list and desserts.

Lovely roast dinner on Sunday evening with the family. The team were attentive, friendly and very accommodating. The beef roast dinner was up there in my top 3! The size of the Yorkshire pudding!! Beef served perfectly medium with a delicious gravy and delicious veg. Very large portion couldn't finish my last potato. Thankyou for a lovely meal.

Black Horse hosted our group of about 16 walkers on a weekday lunchtime. Service was very well organised and efficient, and food was excellent. We were seated in a snug area at the back of the pub where we could talk and relax together.

Stopped for Tuesday lunch, brilliant food, warm welcome, lovely space, loads of parking, just brilliant. Had heard so many good things about this pub, and they’re all spot on, this place is perfect!

Superb food, cosy feel to great pub. Pie of the day and lamb flatbread with Feta and pomegranate- absolutely delicious. Followed by hazelnut praline cheesecake with white rum ice cream - generous portion of flavourful heaven.

Great food. Service not so great. Where we was sitting we were able to review communication between staff. People standing around miss communication. We were seated but then waited 40mins for menus and 60mins for drinks to arrive. Food arrived 75mins later. That was amazing super hot, fresh and tasted brilliant would happily go back for food but hopefully the service gets alot better

Incredibly charming atmosphere. Great food and friendly staff. I highly recommend the sea bass for a tasty and healthy option. The location is lovely - set in a standalone building right next to the large Chorleywood Commons park, you feel very much in the countryside.

What a Gem of a place. Seemingly, in the middle of nowhere. Arrived by taxi from Uxbridge, booked a table prior to a evening's entertainment cabaret show at the local Memorial hall, "When we are Married". The Black Horse, is warm and inviting, we stopped though not long enough to get a drink as Franco the host ushered us through to the restaurant and upgraded our table seeing that we were quite burly lads. We took a prime table with surround views of the entire establishment. Was warm and cosy with the din of family and friends in full conversation and laughter. For aperitif we had a Negroni and my brother had a Aperol spritz and a bottle of white wine with the mains. I had a Slow cooked Pork belly with Savoy cabbage and dauphinoise and an additional dauphinoise, an absolutely and fabulous meal the entire meal was delightful. Will cherish the fabulous moments and foodie memories (yum-yum). Staff were very accommodating and Chef was as pretty as her food delicious. I wanted to stay, though sadly had to go.

Had a great Sunday roast here. Easy online booking and friendly welcome saw us into our heated ‘pod’. Excellent and perfectly timed service from great staff, and my roast chicken was delicious, fresh and well presented. Stuffing was only available as a side order which seems strange, but it was worth the additional fiver.

Nice relaxed lunch. Food was pretty good. Staff very pleasant but very slow service, possibly because there appeared to be only one person in the kitchen. Our two couses took an hour and a half to be served and eaten. We weren’t in a hurry, but it’s not really what you’d expect.

Absolutely top tier food, nothing to complain about. We had one of the outside domes where you can order all your food from a stand up digital menu. Quite fun to use and staff bring it to you, minimal contact, felt safe and warm. The food was all cooked fine and it was a really enjoyable afternoon witj friends. Peopke did stare at us being in the igloo but it was still mice and cosy. Good for a small party or birthday meal seperate from walk ins etc. Recommend!
