I played this course as a visitor. What a wonderful course, 16hcp. Course is a challenge played in Aug. Very well priced. Average paced greens. Lovely fairways, kept down by the local sheep. If your a little unfit, consider a buggy (if they have them?) I walked. The views are picture postcard, especially when you get past the 3rd. You would need to play the course twice to get the best out of your game as there a couple of blind approaches. I found the members I met friendly, pro shop friendly and course staff friendly. The negative reviews seem harsh and maybe due to some internal discussions over spilling into the world of social media. If your thinking of playing as a visitor, fill your boots, you should really enjoy the course. If your thinking of becoming a member…….. remember you can’t please everyone 🤤 I look forward to playing this course again when I come back to the area.

Great morning Had a truly wonderful morning last Thursday. Was made extremely welcome, course in excellent condition, weather was good with little breeze so perhaps played at it’s easiest but can imagine it’s more than a stiff test on a windy day. If you play poorly on the day you’ll still enjoy the magic of the magnificent views and charm of the course. Great value for money and will definitely be back to play again. Played on 17/08/2023

Really enjoyed my round today at Church Stretton golf club. The course was in excellent condition and the views were unbelievable!! The professional was really helpful and all of the members we came across were friendly and welcoming!! Definitely one to play again!

Played as a visitor. The course is hilly with some precarious tees and quite a few blind tee shots. Lots of uphill and downhill shots. However it always felt fair. The rough is gentle and the fairways wide. Most bunkers are filled in and the greens were pretty consistent. The sheep are fun. Staff were very pleasant and were happy to answer all questions and accommodated all of our requests. £14 on a Thursday is an absolute bargain.

Playing golf at GSGC is an absolute treat, the views are stunning and the course is a very good test and in perfect condition when we played on 28 October 23. The welcome from the profesional, James is great and the view from the decking on the 19th is spot on as well.

Hosted our recent society really well. Food and hospitality was great. Course was great too. James the Pro went out his way to accommodate such a big group and was a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely visit again.

I have never been here in my life but the drama is 5/5 great British polarva. My advice to the commitee would be, maybe if you leave the guy alone and let the dude play he can't capture footage of you threatening him, throwing golf balls at him, and lying to the police on camera. My advice to the dude is demand trial by combat. Winner takes all sudden death golf game, whoever wins gets life membership, whoever loses is banned for life. Their champion versus yours, and film the whole thing like it's a pro game.

Played here with my pal as visitors. After seeing all the videos about age discrimination, etc on social media we were a bit worried(as aged 21 and 22). However, James(I think) in the pro shop was brilliant and gave us some tips for the course and all members we spoke to treated us with respect. Would definitely return and wouldn’t judge based on social media, as we had a brilliant round.

We drove up to have a look for maybe playing in the future. I've given it 5 stars as the course looked immaculate and the setting is fantastic. Pretty little clubhouse and cafe with lovely views over the hills beyond and Church Stretton below

We visited this course over the Easter weekend and it was stunning. The course layout is challenging but fair and immaculately kept. The scenery was incredible making it undoubtedly one of the best courses I've played on. There is some political nonsense happening with the committee that run it and which is obvious from some of the malicious reviews. Will definitely return!

Loved this place, headed from Bath to Chester for a catchup with freinds and decided to have a round en route. Stumbled on this place on GolfNow and liked the cost (£20) and the flexible array of tee times. Course has amazing scenery and is very quirky (starts with 3 par 3's) a little tough on the legs until you get up to the top but worth it! We are both fairly high handicapoers but managed to get round without losing too many balls! We also got lucky with weather but worth taking gear if it looks like rain/wind as quite exposed. Other players/members all very freindly as was the chap in the pro-shop, we felt very welcome from the off. A round neither of us will forget quickly, just need another excuse to head up there now! You could pay a lot more for a lot less golf. Greens, fairways, tee boxes seemed good to me, green quickness took awhile to get used to but this will change depending on weather leading up to your round. Highly reccomend for both the scenery, people and the golf. Will hopefully be back! Cheers

Wonderfully scenic course with stunning vistas of the Shropshire Hills. Lots of hard walking so carry light (trolleys can be exhausting). A must play course. Good value too.

Amazing views, great course conditions and friendly staff. At less than £20 a round this is exceptional value for money.
