Poppy and Marcus do a fantastic job which is exemplified when you walk into their butchers shop in the Wool-market in Cirencester. You have to make a visit to this superb traditional Butchers Shop. Meat from their farm, into the shop and into the Daneway. Can’t beat the taste, quality and tenderness.

Lovely place, lovely food, lovely ambience and staff. Steak night - perfectly cooked sirloin with the best pub chips I know of locally at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

We walked to the daneway today and had Sunday lunch. The greeting on arrival from the lovely bar staff to the owners coming to say hi was lovely. What can I say about the food? Well it was incredible!! It was by the far the best roast I have had in a long time! Big portions, very tasty and hot! We will definitely return! Thank you so much!

We park the car in Sapperton and walked beside the canal to reach the pub. Big thumbs up from me for the venison and pork faggots. The smell of the fire was great after coming in from a slightly damp day outside. Will be recommending this pub

This was by far the best stay I have ever had. Spend 4 nights on the campsite. We ate every night at the inn. The owners are just the best, super kind and loving people. The food was superb! We will definitely come back here, even if it’s just to say hello 😁

Found this pub by chance, and what a lovely place it is! The place has just come under new ownership and there was not a Sunday lunch on offer, however, there was a limited menu with some fantastic pizzas on offer. The staff were friendly, and apologetic for the lack of food options, but what they did have was amazing. I'd like to update this review when the full menu is on, though to be honest it's a place I'd definitely recommend anyway. 5*! Thank you very much!

We've had the pleasure of visiting The Daneway Inn on numerous occasions, and it continues to exceed our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrive, the warmth of the welcome, the exceptional food, the impeccable level of service, the picturesque location, the friendly and accommodating staff, and the hospitable landlords consistently stand out as nothing short of superb. Nestled in an absolutely idyllic setting, The Daneway Inn offers easy parking, access to fantastic walking trails, and discreetly placed camping facilities in the lower meadow. Their well-maintained garden area features ample seating on lush, neatly trimmed grass. For dog owners like us, a barrel of refreshing water is always readily available. Stepping into the main building, you're immediately enveloped in a cosy, rustic charm that radiates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bar is well-stocked, and there are plenty of indoor seating options if that's your preference. Adding to the ambience, a charming old fireplace beckons on chilly winter evenings. Dining at The Daneway Inn has been a consistently delightful experience for us. As a vegan, I'm always pleased with the excellent vegan options, while my wife enjoys the regular menu. Our dog, who's impartial so long as he gets something tasty, is always treated to a special order that's both generous and fairly priced. The balance between quality and quantity, coupled with affordability, ensures that everyone is happy and no one leaves with an empty stomach. BTW. I HIGHLY recommend the vegan burger and my wife adores their rhubarb crumble and custard! Rita and Brian, the inn's landlords, are truly exceptional hosts. Even during busy times, they always take a moment to greet us warmly and ensure our satisfaction. Their willingness to accommodate our special requests for our dog, again at a very reasonable cost, reflects their genuine hospitality and generous support of dog lovers. The Daneway Inn consistently offers a remarkable experience that ticks all the boxes, and we can't recommend it highly enough!

What a wonderful find this was!! Fantastic food and drink in a beautiful country pub. It's run by a lovely family and allows campers to stop over if you eat in the pub... Super clean facilities. Faultless. ❤️

Lovely old pub in a gorgeous walking location. Stopped for a brilliant Sunday lunch after a nice walk around the area. If there week food is as good as their Sunday lunch you'll be in for a treat! Accommodated us and our pram giving us a table with space, and baby changing facilities available. Loads of space outside for food/beer in the sun. Looking forward to our next visit!

If after a nice little afternoon in the middle of nowhere surrounded by the countryside with space for little ones to run around safely, sounds appealing, I also seen well behaved dogs too which is a bonus . Then I swear down this is place for you. If that's the type of place you like while enjoying a nice cold beer, then look no further ! Set right by the famous Sapperton tunnel and surrounded by lots of walking areas too, they also said they have a campsight behind the car park so why not camp there for the weekend and enjoy what the area has to exsplore also with a short drive to cirencester! We also had the pleasure of whom I presume was the landlady and landlord. They were very welcoming and kind and a pleasure to meet. Me and a friend had a nice cold drink and sat in the lovley beer garden watching the world go by. Even had some cheesy chips as felt a little peckish, which was not bad price and portion was good . Did look at the menu and looked appealing, so I will be coming back for meals soon. The pub itself is old country style looking cottage type pub absolutely beautiful outside with lots of character aswell picters to look at inside with a lovley nice open fire (of course we are in middle of heat wave so no fire) but makes me want to come back in winter just to sit indoors next to it when those colder days arrive. They had live band advertised which I just love live music unfortunately I was not able to make the date but hopefully there will be more in future as would be nice place to see some bands while enjoying a nice drink or having a meal. It's so worth the visit.

Fabulous pub, great food and even better staff. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, and all the staff were so helpful. So much so, that when our daughter left a toy behind, we had people outside searching the table, carpark and even the bins! Great grassed area for the kids to muck around in,and dog friendly too! Will definitely return!

This is a hidden gem. Tucked away in a secluded Cotswold valley this old tavern sits on the route of the old Cotswolds canal, now long redundant, but accessible for a very pleasant walk via the pub grounds. The pub is steeped in history and looks the part, with thick white-washed stone walls and low ceilings and large fireplaces. I visited during the restrictions of the Pandemic, and like everywhere else they've had to make a few adjustments. The landlord and landlady and other staff are all very pleasant and service was good. Food was really decent as was the beer, no complaints. Decent, simple food cooked well. Yummy.

An excellent find whilst walking along the disused Cotswolds Canal to Sapperton Tunnel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service and food was excellent. Highly recommend

This 17th century pub is a jewel in the countryside. We walk in the area and eat there whenever we can. Simple but interesting menu and food always quality. As is the warm welcome.

We stayed here first weekend in July 23, having chanced on the place during a google search for campsites in the area. The pub is 100% Cotswolds! Full of character, we received a sincere welcome from the owners who strive to deliver a friendly, personable service. Food was excellent, fairly priced, and from a simple menu (less is more sometimes!) with a selection of local and chain beers on tap. It's a very dog friendly place and a magnet for those out for the day walking in the local area, so maybe consider booking ahead if you want to eat. The bar staff were very young and seemingly new to the work, but they were outstandingly polite and went out of their way with service. Camping facilities are simple but clean and well looked after, with tents in a field just down from the car park. They do accept campervans (hence our stay) but be VERY aware that you'll be in the car park with no support facilities; you HAVE to be self contained. But most importantly of all...space...or the lack of it. When you book in with them, be sure to tell them your van dimensions, and BE HONEST. If you tell them you're in a VW and rock up in a Winnebago, you'll wreak havoc! (My advice here...look at the sat image on google earth; vans are placed in the bottom right corner of the car park.) We had two brilliant nights here and would definitely head back there again, but just be mindful of the set up...

I grabbed a latte to go from their outside shack before setting out on a walk, which was delicious. The shack staff were very friendly and gave us information on several options for a walk. We also had a reservation for lunch for after we'd finished walking. The pub staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The tables outside were spaced out nicely and it wasn't over crowded, they had large parasols too (perfect for this beautiful British weather!). I ordered the fish and chips which is one of the nicest I've had. Light, crispy and perfectly cooked fish, hot and not greasy; with really tasty chips. It was very reasonably priced and I would most certainly recommend to others, and would return back myself.

Camping facilities need to be improved. Slope into camping field treacherous. Steep, muddy, overgrown with brambles & no light. Toilet/ shower (accessed by the slope) very dirty & obviously not cleaned for weeks as grime in the sink .

Amazing pub!! Brilliant find in the middle of picturesque countryside. The chef was AMAZING, photos of Salmon Languini and freshly baked chips to follow. The campsite is not advertised but a hidden, brilliant find! Ask at the pub for details and to pay, fires were allowed, good shower and toilet. We will be back again!

We love the Daneaway. A very warm and welcoming country pub surrounded in beautiful countryside views. A favourite stop after a long walk. We've only had some of the delicious cakes here, so can't review the menu yet.

Lovely pub. I had hunter's chicken, which was delicious and a nice big portion.
