The Crown At Ampney Brook

Visited for Sunday Lunch. Not sure a Sunday lunch needs to be made "fancy or overtly aesthetic". Quality of food is good, but one single quarter length of carrot and parsnip seems to err towards presentation versus ensuring you are nourished. "Optional" service charge put on bill. Never understand this, is the food price not inclusive of staff wages? Just up the cost if you feel like they deserve a higher salary. If it's a tip just offer the option when you pay on card machine or to leave cash behind. Don't press-gang people into it.

Wish I could give this place 6 stars. Beautiful ambiance, but the food is really the star of this show. Great value and fantastic food make this the best choice in the area. -Mushroom burger - one of the best veggie burgers I've had in my life. Excellent texture, smoked gouda and a tasty onion chutney made this perfect. -Bang bang cauliflower was awesome. Deep fried and a mayo type sauce, black sesame seeds. -Tomato salad - the tomatoes were very fresh. -Potato leek soup - also excellent -Sourdough - perfect and steamy upon arrival Oh - and only $30 each!

This is a stunning venue. We popped in for a drink and were wowed by it!!! Beautiful décor, lovely selection of drinks and a very welcoming chap behind the bar. They even have a serve yourself wine station which is a first for me. The area for events and weddings looked absolutely amazing. We didn't have food here, but the menu looked very good and had a great range for both meat eaters and vegetarians. We will be back that's for certain.

We had the best night at the Crown at Ampney Brook and will be back for more! A free bottle of prosecco as we are signed up to their newsletter was the perfect way to celebrate our birthdays. Maddie was prompt and non-intrusive, enabling us to enjoy our evening with flawless service and brilliant atmosphere. The food was sublime, perfectly seasoned and with combinations that just work. I would highly recommend the Crown at Ampney Brook to anyone looking for a brilliant night out with great atmosphere and fabulous food.

Excellent lunch with my wife at this nice establishment. Okay so the menu on offer is with premium prices but we could not fault the presentation or taste. Starter with main course and only water and soft drinks expect to pay £40/head + depending on meal choice. Portion size was adequate and the food was received hot. Staff were pleasant and friendly.

Sitting outside by the brook, at The Crown for Sunday lunch. The cocktails and drinks list is extensive and well priced. The food was very good. Sunday roasts were excellent. The restaurant was busy, little more attention on the table would have been wonderful. Deserts bought by 2 members of staff but not cutlery. Other than this, would highly recommend, excellent value for money.
