Had my mother-in-law's 90th there yesterday. Although the food was a bit on the slow side arriving, it was definitely worth the wait. Lamb shank was delicious and just fell off the bone. As for dessert, was hoping for the crumble but they'd run out so had the apple pie instead. Best bit was that ice cream or custard wasn't a choice...it came with both! Bonus!! 😃 Polite, courteous, and helpful staff. Will definitely be paying another visit there in the future. Highly recommend 👍🏻
We had been at this lovely place for Christmas day menu and another day a la carte. The place is lovely, the staff is friendly and attentive, festive table decoration and also those little attentions which pleased our little daughter. The menu was really delicious. Thank you for this wonderful evening far from home.
Also the evening we were here a la carte was gorgeous. The food is really great. A variety of oven baked or fried cheeses with delicious dips and chutneys, homemade bread and I really loved those cider soaked raisins...the mains were also delicious, let me mention this really tasty St. Peter without, my husband really loved it.
We'll be definitely back to this lovely place, when we're back to UK.
Lovely meal, had to remind the staff that they missed the chips on the fish cake meal, received about 5 minutes later.
I really rate the summer drinks on the menu.
We enjoyed our meal out for our anniversary.
Great location, plenty of parking, if you are tall watch your head on the way in.
Toilets clean.

Lovely quaint pub,food lovely,staff friendly😊 our only complaint was the long waiting time for our drinks and food. Drinks took about 15/20 mins from ordering to arriving and it was 45 mins wait for our mains. Couldn't fault everything else though and would return, could've been down to staffing issues on that particular day that we went. Would recommend the kedgeree fish cakes and the honeypot dessert.
Absolutely amazing!! We came to Clacton on a holiday and came to The Robin Hood for Tea one evening and it was so good we just had to book for lunch the next day! They were so friendly and welcoming. They even had a doggy station of help yourself water with bowls and dog treats for free and a pups menu with mini sausages, beef and chicken for the dogs at a reasonable price!
We are absolutely gutted when we go home we will be 3 hours away. We wish it was our local pub!

Our group nine people visited the Robin Hood Pub today on the first of April for a pre booked time slot,
We was shown to our seats fast followed by a drinks order from our waitress (Hannah) who was on her third day of work at the establishment.
After a short time our decisions were made and starters and main meal orders were taken,
Starters were delivered promptly but a fairly large gap of time passed between starters and main meal.
The food was well presented and tasted great, only small gripe being the rice being super stodgy. And although we was told its meant to be like that. I feel you shouldn't need a knife and fork to cut your rice up. 🤔
Desserts soon followed with two menus being offered with disparities of price between items listed, I have uploaded pictures. This could possibly sow unnecessary confusion.
Toilets were clean, decor was smart and tidy, dogs are welcomed and the have a beer garden

Very busy when we arrived in booked at around 15 :30.
Meal arrived reasonable quickly but not to quickly.
Disappointed with burnt roast potatoes and a small portion of roast beef, after showing staff member she whisked both plates away and returned with two new meals.
Much better this time with good portion meat and nice roast potatoes.( But roast parsnips were missing, we did not want to tell staff again who were very busy.)
We ordered two roast beef with extra side of cauliflower cheese( this was cauliflower with grated cheese on and did not look like it was crisped in the oven.
Overall we were pleased with our meal, but at £33 a little in the high side.
The staff member who dealt with the problem was excellent and saved the day.
Lived just a short walk from this pub for 7 years and never visited before this.
Service was spot on, food was good and it was not too noisy, so it was perfect for a quiet family meal with the wife and toddler!
Staff were super friendly and attentive, even made sure to interact with the little one, which was a nice touch.
Our starters came quickly and we did not have to wait long for our mains, they were out within minutes our our table being cleared of the starters.
We will definitely be visiting again, great place, with good food and a welcoming atmosphere that is just a short walk from home, winner, just gutted it has taken us 7 years to actually vist!
The service we received today was amazing! Ashley and other staff was really helpful. The mains was incredible and the desserts were mouthwatering!
Not badly priced either. Can’t wait to return!

Lovely pub. Food fantastic. Service on Monday night by young lady behind bar was world class. Chef also world class. Thanks for making me and my partner and dog feel so welcome.
We came with a large party and enjoyed a great meal in a friendly atmosphere. The service was good with the meals arriving quickly. The staff were absolutely fabulous - they did an amazing job helping out when one of the party needed assistance, going above and beyond on a busy Saturday night. Thank you all, especially Rhianna, your kindness was much appreciated. We will be back.
Staff were great and provided my drinks and foods on time. Great atmosphere and felt very looked after , food was also tasty.
We felt very looked after by the assistant manager Ash who ensured our visit was special, as me and my wife were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Would most certainly revisit again .
