Roaring Donkey, Hungry Horse - Clacton-on-Sea - Photo album

Visited the Clacton area and ended up eating here for two nights. Food was served quickly, staff all very friendly. They have different special deals on every day which are all very reasonable .We had two curries and two alcoholic drinks for £14 available on Wednesdays. Real value for money.
Came in and was told it would be an hour wait as they were extremely busy, which they were as football was on, well we only waited 25-30 minutes, we ordered the Roast beef, food was hot, tasty and had extra gravy, staff were very friendly and polite, and I highly recommend going here
The food was reasonably priced, and good. I had their version of the Steak and Ale pie, it was good. My wife had the chicken wings, and she said they were great. The staff were friendly and helpful. You order from the app and they bring it out to you. Drinks have to be ordered at the bar.
Great food again. They fitted 6 of us in last minute as somewhere else had let us down. The food was tasty and fresh. Decent portions. The service was good. Friendly team. Clean and tidy. There was also a private party in half the bar but they had enough staff on so speedy service all evening.
It was our little ones 7th birthday and he chose to eat here. The staff were very accommodating considering we had 5 kiddies who are fussy about food. They even put candles in little ones ice cream and sung happy birthday to him.
Would just like to say thank you to the staff and chef’s for our experience here, this was our first time in Clacton and you guys made it a great ending to the weekend. The food was delicious, the staff were so up beat. You made us feel very welcome, and we left smiling. Amazing pricing for 8 of us
Very nice atmosphere. Lovely garden with playground for children. Service was good. Food average pub fayre, but good value. I had lasagne with salad my husband had steak, which he really enjoyed. The only downside is, that it really needs an update, a bit shabby here and there. Overall a good experi
A beautifully run pub with a lovely team of staff. Free parking. Beer garden with a playground. We arrived and were told to find seating wherever we wanted, we chose inside, ordered at the bar and sat down, 10 minutes later out lovely sharer starter arrived. The food was perfectly cooked and delicio
Great food 😋 Good service Katsu curry dish is gorgeous 😍
Very short staffed, but we went with the attitude it was Friday night, the sun was shining, so expect a wait for food. We sat in the garden and plenty of seats available but lots of dirty glasses and plates around. The staff were working as fast as they could but it was just manic for them. However,
We use this pub restaurant every time we go to clacton, Liam the manager is such a lovely fella, always happy to help. The staff are nice too,and the food. They don't do Irish coffees though which is a shame,I do like an Irish coffee after a meal.i always have the sizzling chicken,my favourite.
Had a very nice experience with the team, the service was excellent and food was lovely, highly recommended and already booked another evening with them
Just had lunch at the Roaring Donkey with my parents, food was lovely, cooked well and hot. Staff were helpful, polite and friendly. Would definitely return and recommend.
Basic food for a good price! Has lots of options for little ones to choose from. They also have a play area out the back we well as outside seating. Would definitely recommend a visit.
