Lovely place, beautiful food, polite & helpful staff. I've known the owner for many years, he's a local guy, whose very polite & friendly. The duck confit bonbons starter is gorgeous, comes with bits of spring onion, cucumber & hoisin sauce, tastes like the duck from Chinese that comes with little pancakes. And the Blade of Beef main course is absolutely beautiful, sooo soft, it falls apart soon as the fork touches it, similar to Braised steak but a better, more luxurious version. And they do lovely liqueur coffees, we always have 1 with Tia Maria after food...that's only 1 we like, I've never been a fan of alcohol but Tia Maria in coffee doesn't taste boozy, it's just sweet.

Food was lovely and gave an extra vegan option by the chef. The ladies serving were very efficient and friendly. The singer was really good but everyone singing over made it too noisy even sat outside. Had a good night 😊

A friendly welcome as soon as I walked through the door, well decorated and swift service! A lovely meal (Thai Green Chicken Curry) with Lemon Tart & Plum/Damson Sorbet for Dessert! Gorgeous! I'll be back!

Food and service was excellent. The guy that showed us to our table was very friendly and knew everything about the food. Food tasted amazing and the kinder Bueno cheesecake of the day was honestly the best cheesecake I've eaten. Please is really nice. Will definitely be going back and you should go too. The only reason I dropped a point on the atmosphere was, there was music when we arrived at a nice volume. But a live singer came on shortly after at some insane volumes, we were having a meal in the other side of the place but still had to really shout to each other to have a conversation. Don't get me wrong, great singer. Just would be better a little bit quieter in a setting like that for me.

Sunday lunch with friends was as delicious as ever. I opted for the spiced cauliflower and lentil pie but had the traditional Sunday lunch trimmings. Absolutely delicious. Would definitely choose again. My friends had sea bass and traditional roast. We all enjoyed all 3 courses and we were so full afterwards but it was too good to leave.

UPDATE 25/06/22 My wife and daughter went to The George today. She wasn't aware that food orders stopped at 14.15 hours. Lovely Lisa behind the bar was really friendly and bubbly so drinks were ordered instead. She came out later after the drinks had been made and said the chef was willing to cook for my wife and daughter. What a fantastic thing to do and the chef was amazing. The food came out and it was absolute perfection. Many thanks to Craig and the staff he employs. A great asset to the business. .................................................................. Unbelievably awesome food with great service. Ruined by a pretentious table sitting next to me that thought paying a few pounds more for a meal and drinking a couple of bottles of wine meant that they could pick fault at it and look down at those that served them. Please leave your huge egos at the door and enjoy the food and hospitality offered at this great restaurant. Many thanks to the owner for all the hard work he has put into opening this place up again and to all the staff who work there. To the other table, yes maybe you should go to Mcdonalds next time. My 12 year old daughter thought you were... how should I put it, female genatalia.
