Stayed here with my mum for 2 nights, while we went to watch the snooker at the Centaur. We had a lovely meal before we left, as our room was not quite ready. Staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Our room was number 18, was very clean, spacious for 2 people, mum had a double bed, i had a
I stayed in this hotel several times due to my frequent business trips in the area. Very comfortable and clean rooms with amazing view. I tried the majority of dishes in the restaurant all of them very well prepared and delicious, my favorite one is the risotto with squash. I highly recommend that.
Another stop along our Cotswold Way journey. And very thankful to find it as we had done around 30km today.
Just down off the trail and with a fantastic view over the valley below The Rising Sun gave us a great night’s accommodation.
The beds were super comfy, the staff friendly and bar welcoming.

Lovely spacious room, clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious as was the evening meal we had. Ideal location for Cheltenham race course. The view at the front is gorgeous and plenty of outdoor tables to sit with a drink and take it in
Outside has great views on a clear day.
Service a little patchy but good food although portion sizes rather small.
Mini-dessert and coffee option good but we received our coffees 4 or 5 minutes before the desserts - I had finished my coffee long before they arrived.
Great location, fantastic views situated on Cleeve hill with some lovely walks across the common. I had a family meal there and the menu was good and the portion sizes were good. It is such a lovely location to sit and look out whilst enjoying a meal. Family friendly and good service
We often stop off here on the way to and from Cheltenham. A superb view with a great pub garden, selection of on-tap drinks and efficient service. Haven't eaten here ourselves but have heard (and smelt!) good things.
Went for the Special offer steak on Friday night.
It was really tasty and good value.
Definitely recommend this..even better if you get a table with a view.
Bad first - rooms are tired and need a major overhaul, hot water in shower goes hot/cold, WiFi intermittent. Otherwise this place is all good, good breakfast, comfy warm room, amazing views, friendly staff, great value. Just needs a spruce up
We stayed for lunch. I had a burger, and it was stunning. The young bearded chap who served was really good. RHe rcommended this lovely IPA beer. His description was bang on. Good job, young man. Good job.
Stopped in for a mid walk pub lunch on a beautiful long weekend Saturday. Welcoming staff and a garden full of tables in both the sun and shade. There’s something for everyone on the sandwich menu and the food was delicious. Highly recommend. Bring cash to pay if you can to support a local business.
My husband and I went for a meal here. The service was nice and the staff were welcoming.
The view when you sit outside is amazing.
Nice cold drinks and the meal was edible.
This pub/hotel is in a fantastic location for stunning views and lovely walks over the open land behind.
Staff are very friendly & helpful, and the food & drinks were excellent.
If you are looking for a hotel close to Cheltenham, with an excellent view in a beautiful area at a reasonable price, that's the place you are looking for. The room was big and clean with basic facilities (kettle, ironboard, hairdryer are available but no fridge. Parking is available at the back of
Great for a short stay. The views are amazing and the food is very good. The room (room 2) was quire tired, the furniture and carpet quite bashed and marked but overall it was clean and comfortable. A good place to stay to see local sites.
