One of our favourite places to visit.
The staff are helpful and informative.
The cafe is excellent and will pack up sandwiches to take with you across the marsh.
However, this is all eclipsed by the variety and number of birds that we saw (we visited in April): marsh harriers, spoonbills, curlew, godwit, ruff, redshank, teal and avocet amongst some more common estuary birds.
We highly recommend a visit.

Avoid our mistake, parked, paid parking fees, walked into centre to be told that the parking fee was included in the entrance fee, refund refused, yes, it is noted on a nearby sign that certain exemptions were applicable, so our fault and the money does go to a good cause. plus side, good hides and interesting birds, maybe missed the expert volunteers we normally find in RSPB hides though. Beware crossing main road to hides, drivers are fast along the bendy road. We had a drink in the cafe, good facilities, enjoyed the coffee and scones, couldn't get window seats as the local water-color group were seated along them. Would we go back, definitely yes, a little wiser though.

Outstanding place to visit, great cafe and gallery to browse around and an outstanding nature reserve, which is well maintained and run.
Lots to see and do, and has lots of different habitats, from scrapes, Marsh, reedbeds and beach and sea.

Amazing place to visit. The RSPB visitors centre is free, they have a viewing gallery and provide powerful binoculars to view the marshes, fascinating place, they also have hides out near the marshes, you do have to pay for that bit, a ticket is required, but probably well worth it if you're a budding twitcher. The have a cafe and gift shop. Once you have done the rspb centre you can also drive out to the shingle beach just up the road, also a beautiful spot, and a rare habitat, both these places are at Cley/Salthouse, easy to find on the coastal road.

Great place to go. Cafe is good and has reasonable prices. Great to look over marshes to the sea. Car park ticket machine wasn't taking card payment and no note on it up paid when we went in

Really nice place. Super café, ample parking although I can imagine it gets busy in the summer. Take a lovely circular walk from here, about 1 hour, and have a coffee and cake in the café. Absolutely beautiful. Be warned...No dogs allowed on the walk through due to the birds.

Lovely place and lovely staff and volunteers. Can sit and have a coffee whilst watching the birds

Had a good day with some excellent photoshots. Just one detail, perhaps due to our carelessness we paid for car parking and then paid for entry to reserve but we need not have paid for parking if we had troubled to read all the text on the parking board - life is too short to read every 'wordy' notice!!

Lovely visitors centre with great viewing areas inside and outside. Nice cafe and separate exhibition area. The visitors centre is very accessible as are many of the hides outside with good walkways suitable for wheelchairs or scooters. Volunteers were friendly and helpful.

Lovely place to visit. The main access point for NWT Cley and Salthouse Marshes is located 0.8km (0.5 miles) east of Cley Next the Sea village, on the Coast Road – A149 towards Sheringham. Regular buses stop outside the visitor centre – non-members can present their ticket for a reduced entrance fee to the hides (the visitor centre is free to all). Access to the hides is free to members and children, with a charge for non-members. The Coast hopper bus also stops in the village of Salthouse where public footpaths pass through the reserve leading to the beach. The entire reserve can be circumnavigated by a series of walking tracks, which also lead into the village of Cley to the west and Salthouse to the east. Car parking is available at the centre, with additional parking available at the beach car park (all parking free to members, charge for non-members).

Highly recommended for an accessible and gentle day out watching the wild birds visiting the salt marshes and reedbeds. You can access the hides by boardwalks and a well kept compacted hoggin path. We took the helpful advice of one of the volunteers and had a 4 mile walk around all the hides and out to the sea and back.
Aside from the water fowl and seabirds we saw Marsh Harriers and even spotted a Peregrine Falcon doing a high speed dive to take a Lapwing! In the waterways we were lucky enough to spot a Water Vole and a gorgeous little Shrew.
There’s a good visitor centre with car parking and a nice cafe that serves excellent coffee & walnut cake!
Handy tip; Buy your entry ticket in the visitors centre when you arrive (£5) and they will give you a ticket for free parking.
