A group of friends went to The Duke yesterday evening for my birthday meal. None of us had eaten there before but we were all very impressed with the menu and when our food arrived we couldn't believe the portion sizes. All our starters and mains were delicious and it's safe to say we were all very full by the end! The atmosphere was lovely along with the staff and waitresses. We will be back soon! Thank you!
Absolutely great place to stay! Best b&b we've ever stayed in.Great food, drink selection , lovely beer garden and very friendly staff :) Absolutely love this place and we definitely will be back! :)
Have eaten at The Duke twice so far, once for Sunday roast which was delicious and plenty of it. Also we had a family birthday meal all food was fantastic, my Thai green curry was the best I have had!! All very welcoming in a lovely cosy pub. Will defiantly be back and highly recommending.
I have eaten there at least four times over the last six months, and the food has always been excellent. The beverages never disappoint. Service is always provided with a smile. And, the small room off to the side is a cozy spot for a few friends (or those who will soon become friends) to watch their favorite sporting event.
We met for our annual Christmas dinner here last night. The food and service were fabulous! There were 20 of us that have gathered over the years, and they noted this was one of our best nights (food and drink)! Thank you! Would very much recommend!
I've just returned home after spending the evening at The Duke! I popped my cherry as tonight was my first visit and it won't be my last!! I think I've found my new local despite living some distance away! The landlord/lady are uber friendly, the bar staff attentive, the waitresses completely on the ball and personable, the interior and furnishings exactly as you'd expect in a country pub, the vibe busy (but not rammed), I'm reluctant to give a glowing review as I really want to keep this place a secret so I can enjoy it all by myself but I'd be doing the place a huge disservice if I did such so it gets a whopping FIVE STARS from me! Already planned my return visit !!!
The Juke at Clifton a lovely place to stay whether u stay at the pub or camp in the field out back. Staff very friendly and helpful. Meals r very good, beers and drinks r good over all a lovely place to stay. Will be back loved very minute. If u love to walk lots of routes to walk please try it for yourself u will not be disappointed. See u soon
We had a Christmas meal at The Duke last night and were lucky enough to go back for Sunday roast today. Both meals were excellent. Great amount of meat, huge yorkshire pud and good selection of vegetables. Lots of lovely starters and puddings to tempt you too. Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!
My parents, my partner and myself, stayed Bank holiday weekend in August.
We had a fabulous time, the campsite and facilities were excellent. Tim, his wife and staff could not have been more hospitable. The food and drinks are top notch.
Highly recommended.......we will return.
Called in for lunch on Friday 15th September, had a fantastic meal also my husband's meal was fab, we will be calling in again, lovely people made us feel so welcome.
There are some really clever & talented people in the kitchen. The welcome from all the staff front of house is palpable. A delightful, delicious hostelry I cannot wait to return to.

A fabulous late lunch at Great Western Arms. All covid-19 measures are in place as you would expect. Delicious food, as always, all served by the attentive and friendly staff. Roast pork was great, extra gravy was swiftly provided. Looking forward to going back very soon.
The food at this place is absolutely amazing! We love going here for date night and during covid have ordered from their takeaway menu which is equally as amazing. Not only is the food delicious but the staff are so lovely too.

Had a superb pre Christmas lunch, hot and cooked to perfection. The landlady was the perfect hostest, bubbly and very friendly.

Enjoyed a cosy evening whilst stopping over on our Canal boat journey. Warm welcome, warm ambiance and a hearty meal enjoyed by everyone. Hope to make it back once life is back to normal. Recommended!!
