Fantastic experience from the friendly efficient service right from arrival to the exceptional quality of the steaks and all the sides. Generous portions, and selection of free sauces for the steak. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Lovely restaurant. We hadn't booked but they found us a table. Staff were most attentive and the food delicious. Just wish it was closer to our home.

Absolutely loads of ribs in the starter and steak cooked to perfection. Came with 2 generous sides and a sauce. AMEX accepted 👍

Absolutely fantastic. The service was insanely good for a place of this level, the waitresses were impeccable in their manner and approach and deserve to be recognised for their efforts. The home made bread and butter was comparable to anything I've had in a Michelin starred establishment... As a fat Yorkshire lad, I've eaten a lot of burgers in my time but Block's is up there with the best... Sensational steak burger with juicy pulled brisket and bacon. Fab chips and a pot of gravy to dip. If I didn't live 2 hours away I'd come every week. Awesome to see an independent smashing it like this, long may you survive and prosper!

A lovely evening at Blocks Steakhouse, a table of 8 was served and fed very well.
We had a wide range of steak and burgers which was delicious. No starters as you get 2 sides with any main. I would say that the 2 sides are such a large portion, that no one out of our group of 8 finished their plate.

A great menu, but my recommend was that it was too much food and not enough room to order dessert.
Some on our table decided to leave a side to allow room for a dessert. Maybe make portions smaller?
But highly recommend and great service.

We were staying in Cockermouth for New Year coming from Leeds. We booked Block and didn’t know what to expect as there’s a lot of good steak houses in Leeds. BLOCK BLEW THE STEAK HOUSES IN LEEDS OUT OF THE WATER! Cooked to perfection, extremely reasonably priced, very attentive staff even during the New Year’s Eve rush.

Food was good. Streak slightly too pink for medium but still nice. Wine was reasonable and price is about par for Cockermouth. Atmosphere up stairs is a little less appealing than in the main restaurant at the front so try and book early.
