West Mersea Oyster Bar - Colchester - Photo album

Very nice restaurant! Excellent food and view of seashore, sunset! The oyster is very fresh. It's my first time eating fresh oyster without any cooking. Never thought such fantastic tastes. The other seafoods are also very good. We arrived slightly late near closing, so we didn't book a table, just
We went late October and it was a beautiful day so we had a wait a while for a table outside (we also had our dog with us so outside was the only option). Love the atmosphere being right next to the water. Once you bag yourself a table, you go inside to order and help yourself to cutlery etc. The fo
Super fresh, generous portions, great value and unpretentious. Can’t ask for anything more! My girlfriend and I came here on a day trip from London on reputation that this place was good. The reputation held true. Staff were efficient and food was served in good time. We had a half dozen of both
Nice location on a sunny day. Service was quick and friendly. We choose from the specials. I had a crayfish and salmon salad which was well presented with copious amounts of salmon. The good lady had grilled oysters with cream and parmesan which were well cooked and meaty. Both dishes came with real
The best oyster and seafood in Mersea and Colchester.. Eating it fresh and and sitting by the beach and enjoy the view.. what a COMBO! Staff and service was good,, had to wait in line to get a table outside but the wait worth it ALL.. We'll be back.
Been there Sunday July 17th, 22. Good waiting time to be seated, good and fast service. The food was amazing, everything was fresh and the prices quite good. Overall a stunning experience.
What a treasure! We had a fantastic lunch here. The oysters were superb, fish platter fresh and plentiful and staff friendly. Red velvet cheesecake was the best I've had. Can't wait to be able to come back.
They need to have a bigger restaurant and car park as it can be crowded at times esp summer.Apart from that food was awesome 😍👌.Great host and friendly people. Would highly recommend this place to seafood lovers.
Had to wait (about 30 mins) for our orders and it wasn't that busy. The seafood platter is still worth the trip every now and then. The parking can be a bit 'tight' as it is a very popular restaurant.
Lovely food, very busy, people were lining up to sit outside!! Nice staff as well. Look forward to them opening the out door seating area so we can get some sun whilst we eat. Even the dogs loved it and they were welcomed as well
Lovely little no frills eatery. Enjoyed a late lunch of Colchester Native Oyster & fish and chips, washed down with a nice bottle of Shiraz. Sat at outside tables to finish our wine and enjoy the sunset. Highly recommend. I will be back.
1st visit with Essex friend who's been going for decades. You look at the photos & decide. Fab food, prices, service, location & vibe. Do go.
Sosososo fresh seafood that they provide here!!! You can have the finest quality of multiple options of seafood here, the oyster is outstanding, sweet and not pricy at all. Absolutely affordable price for every dishes here. If you visit west Mersea, do pop in, you won’t regret!!!
This place is brilliant. Excellent food, wonderful staff & it's value for money. If you love seafood then you have to visit this place. Visit this place with your family, friends or love ones here.... I did.
Came here during May bank holiday. Glad it was great sunny weather. Queued about 10 minutes before managed to get a seat by the terrace outdoor area. Due to Covid, the restaurant converted their car park to more seatings. Really quick service on oysters. Literally waited only one minute after order
One of Our family's favourite place to visit to eat out when in West Mersea. Lovely place polite waiting personnel. The freshest fish 🐟 ever 💕 We have learnt that in high season or bank holidays it's advised to book so they can reserve a table for us to avoid disappointment. Love sitting outside
Had the sharing platter for £17.50. It was pretty good, wait wasn’t too long and staff were very friendly. Restaurant overall was a bit overwhelmed and they had to stop taking orders for lunch, which resulted in a long queue of people watching you eat your food whilst waiting to be sat which was a b
a nice rough and ready place down on the sea front. Rougham and ready is not a bad term! you get a good wooden table and chairs, there's no ice for drinks and 2 small shared toilets. but what you do get is awesome food. if you like oysters then this is a place to visit. freshly shucked and probabl
