Found completely by accident. With my son being severely allergic to dairy and eggs, we always have to be careful eaten out. The food was delicious. The free cake you gave my son was fantastic. And the milkshake was so good my son had seconds. The couple running the shop are lovely. Would certainly recommend and come back again.

Amazing milkshakes and the sandwiches were really yummy. It's great to have another vegan place in Colchester, and especially one with such lovely staff! Can't wait to come back x

Fabulous place, lovely people and banging burgers. Shakes are delicious and there’s an extensive selection. You can also pick up sweets, fudge, Round-ups, Hershey style peanut butter cups and other fabulous things from the fridge. Not tried the sandwiches but they look good. I’m going to try a pancake next time. Really really hope that it does well for the owners because it is a great place.

So I just popped in to Shakers for the first time and am now enjoying a delicious tofu, sweet corn and mayo sarnie, all vegan of course as is everything on the menu. Reasonably priced. They do an abundance of shakes to - hence the name lol. Decor is 50s diner so I of course left my card as they have had a couple of late nights with entertainment. I wish Alex all the luck in the world with this. xx

A real gem in Colchester town centre. Lovely vibe to the place, with a HUGE range of shakes plus hot food to eat in or takeaway. Kids love going in too πŸ’•

Honestly so happy that more and more places are starting to promote veganism/vegetarianism and coming here today (19th June) has really made my day and given me hope for a brighter cruelty free future οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½ just goes to show that vegans don’t just eat grass and lentils. There are some abuse-free, healthy and tasty af non-meat foods out there. Give it a go! Lovely staff - felt very welcome οΏ½

I travelled from Ipswich when I heard about this place but would have travelled much further! Amazing atmosphere with huge amounts of effort on the part of the owners (incredibly friendly and worth talking to). I had been missing good pancakes and was not disappointed, so much so I went back for a savoury option the same day. The portions may look modest but are actually very filling. The range of shakes is incredible and they are clearly going from strength to strength with lots of ideas for next steps, long may they continue!

Fantastic vegan dinner that serves really delicious burgers and hot dogs and the best smoothies. I loved the Moving Mountains hot dog and so did my friend. Love that as a vegan there is a nice relaxed and fun place we can go to in town now. Staff and management really friendly.

I cant compare this to a non vegan roast but for a vegan roast I enjoyed it. Small little place up some steps but you are greeted by a friendly face. Food came out promptly and was plentiful. I had toad in the hole and Soraya had chicken. Both very nice and cooked well. Had a home cooked vibe. My first Vegan restaurant and I'm looking forward to trying a burger. Well done!

Incredible experience! Amazing selection after only being open a month, and growing all the time. The owners are very friendly and enthusiastic and clearly have big plans. It’s worth a journey for the pancakes and shakes and the atmosphere but their savoury food is well rounded too. The portions may look modest but are actually very filling. I hope they go from strength to strength.

Went for lunch with my friend and her son. Unfortunately the entrance to this diner is up stairs. The staff helped us with the buggy and were very accommodating. The stairs are unfortunate for the owners as this really is an awesome little diner, that you just can't see from the main drag. I had a vegan hot dog which was huge and delicious. I also had an amazing milkshake which was huge and delicious. The metal eco straw was a nice touch too. The owners were so lovely and friendly and very accomodting to children. Lovely decor and vibe. Very reasonably priced. Hidden little gem. Can't wait to visit again

Came here for dinner with my non-vegan boyfriend and we both very much enjoyed it! We both always appreciate small businesses run by people (as opposed to chains) and even more so when they provide high quality food. We both had burgers and would have probably gone for milkshakes afterwards as the ones we saw looked amazing but we just felt so full already! A lovely little place that is worth supporting!

Amazing shakes, burgers and freshly baked good! Good price considering the cost of vegan alternatives. Lovely service, chatty helpful staff. Only problem is the last 2 times I've tried to come in for something to eat the entrance has been locked (during open hours) .

Fantastic! 100% vegan plant based diner. Very friendly staff ... lots of choice. The milkshakes were incredible and the Moving Mountains burger was delicious! With places like this -- who needs meat and dairy! You guys rock!
