Review The Cowper Arms - Cole Green

Excellent pub in a great location. If you'd like a nice woodland trail walk, there's one just outside that'll take you all the way to Hertford. Lovely spacious garden. Best to book ahead for Sunday lunch, it is very popular. They accommodated us and our toddler effortlessly. Will definitely return!

The lunch menu is limited but decent value. Food is good, the restaurant is attractive and the garden is great. It's easy to park, and there's a nice walk next door along the old railway line.

5 star everyday, had such a lovely lunch with my family. The waiter max was excellent and took care of my son who is gluten intolerant and made the experience so easy and enjoyable. We will be back very soon!!!

Had a very nice meal. The food was very good if a little pricey. My wife’s gluten-free diet was catered for. The service was excellent. Katie was an attentive and cheerful waitress. We will certainly return.

We came for a Sunday Roast and loved every moment. Food was great, staff were great! Would definitely recommend. Find Steve, he is a legend!!!

Was there yesterday and I had the best customer service from the manager Trudie and Alison, they were both very helpful and welcoming. I enjoyed sitting near the open fire in a pleasant atmosphere. She helped with my menu choice and food was fantastic. How nice it is to visit where staff are friendly.

Despite the changes of their lunch menu not to have set courses, we enjoyed nice meals and great services. Mini dessert and hot drink was an absolute steal, my mini brownnie wasn't small at all and latte came with Green ＆ Blacks chocolate!

Always a friendly welcoming bar/restaurant. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty indoors for the main restaurant. Very clean throughout! The food was lovely and nice size portions. Good selection of drinks all at a reasonable price. The Cowper Arms is a great stop off when walking or cycling to/from Hertford.

Small wait for our table but they were happy to provide drinks and a table in the bar area during our wait. Best Sunday roast I’ve had in a while. Great service from Katie really accomadating to my allergies.

Beautifully decorated pub restaurant down a quiet country lane. Loads of seating in quaintly styled areas as well as a healthy amount of dining. Large garden area out back and a smaller one out the front. Staff are always pleasant and there's lots of them. Ample car parking and space around. A really nice place to visit

We booked online for lunch the day before for 2 pm on Saturday with ease. Our meal was outstanding and the service was excellent! The waitress was very professional and provided an excellent service! We had a wonderful afternoon and would highly recommend the Cowper Arms! We will definitely be coming back again soon.

Went with some friend to the halloween party at the Cowper Arms, amazing atmosphere with live DJ and family friendly entertainment. The staff went all out for the occasion. Great cocktail list and yummy food!

Went to Cowper Arms with mum for Sunday lunch. We were greeted by Stephen as we walked in and lead to our table, once we were seated we ordered drinks which took about 7 minutes to arrive. Stephen guided us through the sunday menu, i was going for the roast beef, but he convinced me to go with the trio of roasts which was pork, beef and chicken topped with favourite snack pork crackling and it was very nice and tasty, Stephen checked back on us to make sure everything was good. by this time the pub was almost full, could see the staff always smiling and engaging with the guest. To finish it off we had the mini dessert & hot drink and what better than the white chocolate cheesecake promptly brought by Stephen by this time lunch was in full swing it was nice to observe the staff always smiling and engaging with the guests. It was time to leave, got a good strong handshake from Stephen and a goodbye from the floor staff. I would definitely recommend the Cowper Arms to anyone. And a thank you for Stephen and his team.

Fantastic food and lovely surroundings friendly staff

Our server, Alice, was excellent and made us feel very welcome. Food portions with the burger were a bit small but otherwise delicious. Lovely place to eat in a good location
