Excellent little find, was just down the road from the hotel we stayed at, decided to take a chance at a local pub with arriving late. I would say it was a locals pub so had a few people in chatting away which is better than entering an empty pub on a weeknight (Thursday) The food was suburb for the price, staff were very friendly and everyone was welcoming of Marley (dog), I think by the time we left he had made friends with everyone in the place as they walked past to the toilets πŸ˜€ Would recommend if your in the area and need a cheap bite and a drink.

What a lovely pub and people! We were the only people to order food. The landlady and barman were super attentive, the food was excellent. Really good normal pub grub! Would absolutely recommend.

Sadly, the owner is moving away, so food was limited, but what was offered was excellent quality

What a quality village pub, we walked from coleford Town where we we staying, such a nice pub, lovely staff, made to feel welcome even with our non local accent. Paid for a taxi for us back to our hotel. If the weather's nice it's so nice sat in the garden with the shade of the maple tree. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Rosie the current landlady - is a delight, so kind and warm, and there is always a fab welcome from her every time I visit. She is everything a good landlady should be, the perfect hostess and her carvery is, quite wonderfully, becoming known in Parkend. The pub will be lost without her and so would all the groups that visit, and hold their meetings there. She is so obliging and she provides chips and snacks - every month- at our meetings during our break. The Crown Inn, is a proper local pub which serves the community and this is a rare thing today!! A real treasure!! TP

Visted the Crown for a Sunday lunch as we found that they welcomed well behaved dogs (and their owners!). Lunch was typical pub fayre but was good value.
