Review The View - Coniston Cold

The Gauvins
We really enjoyed our lunch here in the gorgeous English scenery. We had the ‘light lunch specials’ and the main course was really wonderful and filling but the deserts were very small, dainty and largely disappointing! Our ‘Eton mess’ seemed to be deconstructed and pokey and the pavlova was a bit of a joke if you ask me. Although, on the whole we enjoyed our experience with the attentive and lovely staff, great mains and excellent setting!
TRUDY LOK
Food was superb, service variable. Waited at the entrance of the restaurant over 5 minutes to be seated, no one making eye contact, were given menus & tap water then nothing. Eventually after 20 minutes we called someone over to take our order prior to that we seemed invisible. After that the service was excellent very attentive, timing between courses just right. All of the three courses were delicious perfect presentation perfect temperature. Compliments to the chef.
