The Black Bull Restaurant - Coniston - Photo album

We stayed last weekend and all I can say is what a lovely comfortable stay it was. The room we stayed in was great, clean, tidy and everything you could need. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was absolute luxury. We also enjoyed a beautiful meal at the pub which was perfectly cooked
Stopped off here for a Sunday Roast. Initial impressions were that it hadn’t had a decor job for quite some time, although this added to the charm of the old traditional Lake District aesthetic. The roast was really good, the staff are really friendly and would definitely visit again. My only gripe
Bliss little pub - I was refused a table in The Crown which is over the road even though I arrived at 4:45pm and the table wasn’t reserved until 8:30pm. So I left and found Black Bull, I’m so glad I did they are very welcoming and they had a table for me which I stayed at all night ordering countles
We thought we might be in for a good day when we got the last space in a public car park. Finding the Black Bull was the icing on a good day. Nice atmosphere, good selection of drinks, and the homemade steak and mushroom pie was one of the best I have ever tasted and packed with meat.
Dog friendly traditional pub right in the centre of Coniston, loads of beers/ales from the adjacent brewery.....perfect! We had a couple of bar snacks and they were lovely.
Stunning pub and a fantastic atmosphere. We enjoyed a simple pint of cider and some chips but easily could of stayed all evening if we weren't driving.
Had a 2 night stay, a very welcoming pub, a great selection of ales brewed on-site, outstanding food but above all, the service of bar staff and waiter/waitresses was exceptional. Would highly recommend
Brief stop after climbing the Old Man of Coniston for a pint and some chips. The service was warm and friendly. The chips were spectacular and the pints, well you can't ever go wrong with a leffe 🍺👍 great location as well.
Wonderful pub with a connection to the Coniston Brewery, so outstanding selection of well kept beer 🍻 Food was lovely too, I enjoyed a very generously stocked cheeseboard 🧀 Young man behind bar with glasses was very accommodating and gave great advice and tasters on beers, thank you 🤩
Fabulous selection of beers, brewed in the pub’s own microbrewery. We tried the Old Man bitter and Bluebird XL — both delicious. We had a cozy lunch by the fire. My sweet potato, red pepper and fennel soup was perfection with a warm roll and butter. This seems a popular place, and dog friendly too.
People leaving 4-star reviews for this place makes me despair. This is the best pub in the Lake District - maybe the world. I make a point of trying to go here once a year after a long walk. The beers are fairly-priced and many are brewed literally next door, the food is good and can be very reasona
This was a return visit but about 7 years since our last one. Had not changed still friendly bar staff and they serve Coniston Blue Bird beer and serve Woodalls Cumberland sausage just what we wanted.
This is an Inn in the real sense of the word. Real ale brewed in the adjoining brewery, all day food and rooms aplenty. The Black Bull is home to not one but two Supreme Champion Beers of Britain. The pub is full of charm with its stone and thick wooden beams and the walls are packed with brewing aw
Great local English pub serving micro brewed beer from the coniston brewery next door. The ales were traditional English ales and were high quality. The food was great and the venue conducive to ale quaffing and yarns. Definitely worth a visit - recommend the old man ale.
